And in honor of that I'm setting up a theory thread.
First thing I want to ask is, since he can't benefit from his own waagh! rule, is the he biker warboss still a thing?

Lol I know a couple of ppl who are. To humor you I'll look into orks data sheets, but to be fair it there is nothing on the sheets then it's quite possible that they will expand the orks in their own codex later on this year.

And in honor of that I'm setting up a theory thread. First thing I want to ask is, since he can't benefit from his own waagh! rule, is the he biker warboss still a thing? Well... s.o.b. guess warboss can't waarh on his bike. If you looking at this in terms of balancing (though I can't say if it is justified or not), boyz are only able to move 5" if they advance then that's a extra d6 (or 3" or 4" on average) of movement. That brings them minimum 6" to max 11" inches. I'm guessing since the warboss isn't moving the same speed (actually 14" which is WAY better) he shouldn't benefit from the same effect otherwise he is able to advance min 15" to max 20" and still charge that is re-rollable. He be an equivalent of a torpedo, just big...and green...with a power klaw. Assuming your opponent deploys at the edge of his deployment, and you do the same, then there is only 24"between your two armies. Your big green death hog stands a great chance to get a 1st turn charge, even if he rolls a "1" to advancement, as a "1" will push him 9" away from the enemy. That's pretty good odds. Even without the "waaarh!" rule, in this same situation, he only be 10" away from the enemy (don't forget your charge is considered successful if you manage to be within an 1" of an enemy model.) I think another thing you are not considering is the psychic powers that orks get now. I think they are baller. The toughness Test one is a one shot deal, considering the range, but if you get it off then man that weird boy is instantly promoted. That can eliminate foot HQ pretty easily (granted a 1/3 chance with T4 models,) also you guys basically have Gate to infinity (Da Jump). Just put a weirdboy near a blob of 30 boyz and you got yourself some back line assassins that is able to charge that same turn, and can CHARGE and Re-roll that charge! BOOM! Taking about a deadly distraction. For the "Warpath" power I can see that being pretty decent considering a weaken mob can still become deadly by gaining an extra attack. so a squad of 10 boyz will generate 41 attacks (1 more from the nob and 10 from the power.) What else from the ork datasheets do you like? I just started reading it. Edit: Tankbustas look pretty sweet, especially with the bomb squigs.

Yeah Da Jump makes a weird boy pretty much a base requirement now. I am really curious to see how a Morkanaught works now in practice, because he looks pretty decent on paper. I am really hoping they flesh out the clan system and make something like chapter tactics

Hmm well I haven't seen any "Chapter Tactics" as of yet (if any has seen them please let me know where.) I feel confident though, if they are not out there yet, then they will be in the new codecs. 100% agree, weird boy is a must now.

I really want to see the FW rules, I am leaning thematically towards a more mechanized force but I need to see what Grot tanks look like

I feel like there is a leak some where, but I think they are the books for chaos and imperium. But no I agree, I can't wait to see how they converted fw to 8th.lol did you see the stompa? 40 wounds.. That's insane. Speaking of mech lists, what fw models for orks where you looking at? I'm curious what kind if mech list you want?

Bring nothing but grots. So many grots that a Guard player would be like "Woah, I think you went a little overboard on the infantry there."

The beautiful thing is boyz are cheap enough that I can easily feild 60-80 in a list with room for other units. With the fairly brutal battle shock penalties and the confusingly beneficial changes to mob rule it's hard to see myself ever feilding fewer than 60

I especially like it that even if a mob of 20 orks get shot down to 5 remaining, mob rule allows nearby units to share their leadership with the now 5 man squad. Orks and nids might be the scariest factions to face I'm this edition.

I think with the removal of templates and D weapons (and in the Eldar case D templates) horde armies are certainly more dangerous than we were. The ability to fall back though can allow a shooty army to tarpit and whittle a large mob down so they are far from overpowered. I am happy that 8th has made armies that are not just static gun lines viable, I think Orks aren't great, but we are waaaaaaaaay better than we were for sure.
I also have faith in their plan to constantly rebalance point costs, so if it turns out we do suck then we won't suck for the whole edition

I watched an Ork Killa-Kan list kick the teeth in on a Chaos Army last night. You can watch the stream here if you'd like: www.twitch.tv/videos/150041649

And that is why I am building 3 additional Kanz. I love the model, they have just never really been usable before. I love that the dread list is now viable
I am waiting impatiently to see how Grot Tanks look as well

Well good sir we haven't played the army yet so let's see what it can accomplish on the battlefield cause I think you might be under estimating your army.
