Alright - I know they're going for a 'blend' (and doing a great job of it) but I guess the weapons (on both models) are very specifically "Eldar vs. Dark Eldar" where the rest is such a great integration, it just stuck out to me.
Interested to see where this leads...

And I noticed that the Emissary character has a husk blade, and then the Avatar character has two weapon options - the eldar sword here, and a dark eldar looking dagger. So they're going all in on the "hey check out how mixed these characters are, so they fit in with any army you want them in" vibe. And I have no complaints.

Perhaps also relevant: I wasn't sure if anyone on here read Saga, but every-time I've seen the Gyrinx I thought of Lying Cat.

I wasn't sure if anyone on here read Saga, but every-time I've seen the Gyrinx I thought of Lying Cat. I love Saga and most of Vaughn's stuff. Though I'm one of the punks waiting for the trade books to drop instead of doing it issue by issue, so I'm not caught up.

Can't really make out any of the rules, but it looks like these are going to be multi-faction formations. Soulbound Vanguard looks like its made up of Units of Dire Avengers, Incubi, and Wyches. The Bladehost looks like Wyches, Banshees or Storm Guardians (maybe?), and Harlequins.

It looks like its specifically:
2 units of Dire Avengers from Codex: Craftworlds 1 unit of Incubi from Codex: Dark Eldar 1 unit of Wyches from Codex: Dark Eldar
and:
1 Unit of Wyches from Codex: Dark Eldar 2 units of Howling Banshees from Codex: Craftworlds or Black Guardians (pg. 176 [or something]) 2 Troupes from Codex: Harlequins
So it looks like at the very least there are new rules for Black Guardians in the book, which is cool. The rest look like they're pulled from codexes, and the names of the codexes haven't changed so there's no reason to fear a renaming in so far as new codexes or a combined Eldar faction codex etc.
I can't wait to see if the incubi are new models...and what the rules are!

Yeah definitely going to be new rules for Black Guardians...throwback to 3rd and 4th edition! That's fantastic. Back then there only difference was they were WS BS 4, while Guardians were 3. Who knows what they'll be now
But yeah this is definitely Operation: sell Wyches, Incubi and Guardians - those rules will have to be something else to make those units viable even in a friendly setting (or at least the guardians should share their plasma grenades with the incubi)

Dude Idk, there are NO restrictions on the formation - meaning depending on the rules, you can take transport skimmers for everything, deep strike them, blob them up as a tarpit, etc. Lots of flexibility.

So uh, fall of Cadia is going to have some Cadian stuff... right guys? Unfortunately not yet - Fall of Cadia has been out for a couple weeks, nothing in there for you specifically so far. But the narrative does have Yarrick (or is it Creed?) being taken/allied to either eldar or necrons (its unclear), so you WILL be getting something, maybe in the next book of the campaign. It was rumored that GW was going to be doing a box of characters/models for each of the races/factions - so we still need Necrons, Tau, Tyranids, Orks, and IG by my count. I doubt that the imperial characters released are supposed to "count" for cadia too. EDIT: Will is right though, the detachment can be used by IG, and it does present some cool options.

So uh, fall of Cadia is going to have some Cadian stuff... right guys? You do have access to the Castellans of the Imperium Detachment which is pretty competitive/fluffy for guard of any variety. It is a FOC that provides the following: 2-4 HQs 0-6 Heavy Support 0-6 Elites 4+ Troops 0-6 Fast Attacks 0-3 Lords of War Command BenefitsZealous Defenders: All units in this Detachment have the Hatred special rule. However, if this Detachment’s Force Organisation Chart contains the maximum number of units (excluding Troops), then all units in the Detachment have the Zealot special rule instead. Flock to the Front Line: Each time a Troops unit from this Detachment is completely destroyed, roll a D6. On a 5+, you can immediately place a new unit into Ongoing Reserves that is identical, in terms of the original number of models, weapons and upgrades, to the unit that was just destroyed. This new unit counts as being part of the original Detachment, so roll a D6 as described above if they are subsequently destroyed. Victory points are awarded as normal for new units in this Detachment that have been completely destroyed. Lord Castellan: If this Detachment is chosen as your Primary Detachment, you can choose to re-roll the result on the Warlord Trait table. Additionally, you can fill the organization slots with units from pretty much any Imperial Codex (Sans SW, DA, BA, GK, and Deathwatch).
