Yeah I'm just going to keep checking (dare I say it...) 4chan /tg to see early leaks of the most important parts I care about - USRs and Combat. Also the guy on faeit was proven to be a troll by Naftka, and the whole thing was pulled down, so there is hope yet that the egregious assault phase has in fact been fixed (fingers crossed). If they do nothing else but allow sweeping advances and assault from reserve, I will be ecstatic. It would at least allow an assault army some degree of "alpha strike" on the same level as those with drop pods/a ton of shooting. *EDIT*: Just got an email from GW saying the shipment of my pre-order is delayed, so I won't get it till Tuesday or Wednesday of next week most likely anyone plan on picking one up at a local store (are there any local stores anymore??) so we can get an idea of the changes this weekend/get in some games?

The Dojo will have them in Friday, but that's no guarantee that the rabble rabble can get their hands on them a day early.
Nick, Please cancel your order and buy elsewhere. I'm not going to tell you how to spend your money... but I'm telling you how to spend your money. Delayed pre-orders? That is hands down the single reason to pre-order something... to insure you get it the day of, if not sooner.
If I get a chance to look through one of the books early, I'll definitely take a look at the assault phase. I should at least be up there Saturday for the league so I can probably look at it then at least.

I like that prescience is a Warp Charge 2 now - will definitely tone down seer lists that spam it around the board. And with the new psychic system, you'll have to throw 4 dice at it to reliably get it off, and your opponent can now deny it which is a big plus.
I'm interested to know more about this "force" power though - is it just a default power that all armies with force weapons have access to in order to charge up their force weapons? Like instead of a LD check to activate? Would make sense, to bring it in line with the new psychic phase.

*EDIT*: Just got an email from GW saying the shipment of my pre-order is delayed Woah! I pre-ordered the 40k book from GW and haven't gotten an email saying it was delayed. Maybe something else in your order is causing the delay, that or GW hates you

Yup, psychic powers and perils table are now up online. Perils table: - Dragged into the Warp: Psyker takes a leadership test, if passed suffers 1 wound or glancing hit no saves. if failed he is removed as a casualty and his unit takes d6 S6 AP1 hits. The hits come from the psyker for allocation
- Mental Purge: Psyker suffers 1 wound/glancing hit no saves. randomly select one power from the psyker. its lost for the rest of the game.
- Power Drain: Psyker suffers 1 wound/glancing hit no saves. if its the psychic phase, both players lose d3 warp charge points
- Psychic Backlash: Psyker suffers 1 wound/glancing hit no saves.
- Empyric Feedback: Psyker takes a leadership test. if failed Psyker suffers 1 wound/glancing hit no saves. If passed no effect.
- Warp Surge: Psyker takes a leadership test. if failed Psyker suffers 1 wound/glancing hit no saves. If passed psyker gains a 3+ invul, fleshbane, armour bane, and smash until the next friendly psychic phase.

Skilled fighter:
the warlord has the counter attack special rule.
the warlord has the furious charge special rule.
the warlord has the outflank special rule.
the warlord gains 1 victory point for each character model he kills in a challenge.
the warlord has the feel no pain special rule.
6.the warlord has the fearless and it will not die special rule.
Skilled Leader:
all allied units within 12" can use the warlords LD.
all enemies within 12" of the warlord have to use the lowest LD.
the warlord and all friendly units within 12" of the warlord have the move through cover special rule.
the warlord and all friendly units within 12" add +1" on run and assault moves.
the warlord and all friendly units within 12" reroll failed to hit rolls of 1 in the shooting phase.
the warlord and all friendly units within 12" reroll failed to hit rolls of 1 in the assault phase.
Skilled Tactican:
As long as your warlord is alive you can discard 2 mission objectives per turn instead of 1.
One use only: declare at the end of one of your turns. if you declare the warlord trait your enemy has to discard one random mission objective of his.
Obtain a additional mission objective at the start of your first turn.
when declaring mission objectives in your first turn you can select to discard up to all your mission objectives and draw new ones.
As long as your warlord is alive you can reroll the victory point result that you get for each mission objective archived.
For all tactical secured tactical mission objectives x (x is 1-6) you archive you gain a additional victory point.

And Josh, they may very well hate me lol or it might just be that some of them are delayed, who knows. I only ordered the new book, psychic powers, and objective cards...so nothing that would be considered special order I would think.
Cross my fingers and see! And josh, welcome to 40k my man! Its a different kind of fun than fantasy, in that its more of a large skirmish game than anything, but you should enjoy it. Faster paced, not as tactical, but generally more exciting. Its the michael bay of wargames.

There is our answer to so many questions. LD still matters for psykers, and Shadow in the Warp will fuck your opponent if they roll perils.

It seems like my Nids will be taking the skilled fighter traits most often - imagine a tyrant with IWND...amazing. Dark eldar could use those traits too - since most archons will be combat oriented.
The leadership onces would be good for Nids as well; just acting as a force multiplier for your various support troops. With winged tyrants being mobile, can basically place the big guy within 12" of whichever units are going to most benefit from his trait.
The tactician ones are obviously only useful during Maelstrom missions, as the way I understand it you only use the objective cards during maelstrom missions specifically. Which would mean that you only really have 2 tables to roll on when it comes to standard missions.
I love that info is leaking out...just can't wait to see assault changes and USR changes...getting pumped up!

Seeing those Sanctic powers makes me want to go back to my Grey Knights. I wonder if all of them will have access. Giving a Dreadknight the ability to teleport around with a strength D template power seems....fun.

With Skilled Fighter, there is no reason to roll on the Nid chart, except the off chance you get Synaptic Lynchpin. I forget about it half the time, though, anyway.
