Hey duders, so I'm defo going to back the Dropfleet Commander Kickstarter. I'd love if we could all get in on this to play some super groovy spaceship wars. I'm willing to go big on this thing if people want to throw me some cash for a dropfleet of their choice. There are three races available right now: UCM, Scourge, and Shaltari, with the two former being the starter box ships. I'm partial to PHR, which has yet to be unlock, but do fucking love the way UCM looks. I'm aiming at the Commander Pledge, which is two starter boxes, then doubling down on each of the adds for the other armies to give everyone plenty of ships. So basically, I'm looking for three other wallets who are interested in throwing some cash at this thing and claim an army. What say you nerds? I'm jonesing for this shit.

You know me, I'd be down. Drop fleet commander has had my eye for a lono time, what are we talking about in terms of cost?

About $100 for each. That's for 2x the "Starter Set" for each race, a pretty fucking great deal. Plus there's all the fancy add-ons. Take a look at the Kickstarter to get a better idea of what you'd get and what you can get. I would throw in more for the rulebook and terrain and stuff, and whoever would take the UCM or Scourge would pay a bit less, about $80.

I'm tempted. I vote someone go in for the Admiral pack - those KS only models (like other exclusives) can end up being worth a pretty penny if the game takes off.

I mean, if we can generate enough interest here, I'm in.

I mean, if I read it right, the Admiral pack was only about $170, comes with 2 starter boxes (so two UFC, and two Scourge), and then the fancy special ship... That's a pretty reasonable price tag for 4 people.
What's the deal with unlocking stretch armies though? Can you add on additional starter sets for an $X fee? I didn't spend nearly enough time actually "reading" the page. Now that I am associated with Donald "The Donald" Trump, I "have people" for that sort of work.
Edit - I lied. The Admiral pack is the massive one that costs more than enough to pay my rent for a month (HA!. My rent is cheap.)
I think the Captain level is the more reasonably priced, yet stuffed-with-goodies level that I was thinking of.

Alright, I actually read things, and understand basic concepts of life now.
Can someone who's played Dropzone give me a quick rundown on the playstyles of the 4 armies in question? I've heard a bit about the game, but never got the chance to play. Usually I like to know a bit more about the faction/playstyle before purchase (which is what generally stops me from picking up new games, because apparently I'm bad at getting playtesting in).
Anyway. Carry on, citizen.
