Absolutely love the models, this is very easily going to push back my Necrons another few months, if the rules are half decent. Plus, I haven't played an imperial army in FOREVER. I already want 2 boxes of the infantry at least, plus probably 2-3 of the walkers to paint up. Might start out at 750 points with these dudes and work up from there.
Really interested to see their ally wheel too...if I can do Dark Mechanicus and throw in some cultists as rangers/vanguard...omg I'll just die.

So...right off the bat I'm thinking 5 Vanguard, with 2 Arc Rifles and a Data Tether (to help with Doctrine Imperatives, which absolutely have to be similar to IG orders right?) is going to be a solid little anti-vehicle unit for 90 points on the nose.
The amount of fire power available is kinda cool - 10 Vanguard are dishing out 30 shots at 18", and any 6's count as two wounds - S3, sure, but man...an average of 6 wounds per phase just from that nifty rule, regardless of target, is neat.
I also love that they get to snap fire on 5s (the walkers at least) - take 3-4 of those autocannon guys, and use them as dedicated anti-air. Hitting on 5s, rerolling? For FREE? I'll take that all day!
Lots of cool little tricks here, I think its going to be a similar issue with the harlies...how do you keep them cheap enough to be effective, but get enough of the toys involved to do the right jobs?

I think it's going to boil down to what their formations are like. A lot of the harlie stuff has a moderate-to-hefty tax, or is just too large to be used as "a small ally force". Of course, there are plenty of great formations for them, so that's not a huge deal.
Agreed on the models, though... absolutely gorgeous. Also jealous of S6 haywire... multi-tasking!

Those are some big bases for 45 point models. Hopefully the come in multiples.

I don't care how they play, I just want to paint these models up. I've been waiting 20 years for this army.

Well shit, I haven't bought anything from GW in years. So much for branching out. I don't care if I never play with these, I'm buying at least 1 box of vanguards and rangers (or 2 of the combined box if it's one of those. They seem to have the same torsos and legs).

Those are some big bases for 45 point models. Hopefully the come in multiples. Knowing GW, they'll still be 1-to a box...but god it would be cool if it was at least 2! Anyways, thinking that the bases aren't quite big oval shaped...looks like it might be the same oval base that the carnifex came on in the Leviathan supplement? So like...75mmx60mm? If it IS the big oval, these guys would be roughly riptide sized...which just seems crazy. Plus they're $41 a pop, so if its one to a box, you're literally paying $1 per point. Wooooof.

Looks like it's 49 bucks for a single model. Nuts to that.
