Finally making a thread explicitly for my painting stuff I want to share. First up is an...abomination. My poor Broodlord kept losing his arm, snapping off of his base, and finally the tip of his tongue cracked off. Moreover, I always wanted the Broodlord to look more imposing. So I went at him with the clippers, exacto, pulled from my box of bits and made the Brood Tyrant!Planning on using him as a Broodlord, but IMO he is a good Swarmlord proxy as well. I don't run Swarmlord currently, but maybe one day. He is still majorly WIP and I will update as I continue to paint.

Are you painting without primer?

Sort of! Base coat green. Did not do base coat green on the blades because I am they will be white/tan. They will likely get some sort of base coat, not sure which yet
I know Primer is really useful, but it is less paint, less time, and less money for me. It also helps I am only worried about tabletop quality

Primer just helps the paint stick to the model, since smooth plastic is not an ideal surface for acrylic paint to adhere to long term - especially when being handled over time, like miniatures often are. The primer will make sure that your paint doesn't flake off after a handful of games, and along with a varnish at the end of the painting process will make sure the oils in your skin don't damage the paint scheme either.
It takes two minutes to prime a model with a spray can or with an airbrush - I implore you to take the time to do this lol it will save you so much headache in the long run! 2 minutes to make sure you don't have to repaint entire models every few months! Invest in your future! lol

My genestealer cult has a proper leader now and doesn't have to borrow one from Hive Fleet Gorgon. Work in progress Patriarch of the Cult of Hungry Underground Dwellers! You can call us CHUD for short. Mutated sewer monsters who are manipulating the Hive City above from their lair in the Sump! I am not sure what to color the spikes on his back so I kept them black for now. Open to ideas and critiques!

Very nicely painted! I particularly the basing. Since you are making mutated sewer dwelling GSC, what are the odds you could mix in some skaven and beastmen to really make it ridiculous?

I DIDN'T KNOW I WANTED THIS UNTIL JUST NOW
I am also considering getting Skaven for Shadespire so that would pair nicely. I could certainly kitbash some Skaven into an Acolyte Hybrid squad

Don't add the pictures as attachments, embed them into the post by hosting them on imgur and linking to it directly.

Also, do you need some Island of Blood Scavensies for said purposes?

Joelercoaster I had no idea what those are until I looked. For sure! I would be interested. Are they all metal pieces?

All plastic, it's a snap fit starter so not as modular for conversions, but some separate pieces. I only have the little dudes (no rat ogres) but if you want them they're all yours.

I would CERTAINLY be interested. I can certainly turn those in Acolyte Hybrid Conversions. What do you want for them?
Also how many do you have and are willing to part with? I wouldn't be opposed to a quick picture of them.
