Real dumb list, but with the neurothrope being an HQ now its finally possible to take a battle forged list at 2000 with a heirophant lol

Patrol only needs 1 troop choice, its 1 HQ 1 troop. You're thinking battalion.

Could always sub the gaunts for 2 units of Rippers. 2 pts cheaper, and you can DS onto rando objectives with them for actual scoring needs.

He's S10 T8 50 wounds 2+ save and a 5+ invuln as well

I wonder if he'll bump to a 4++ same as the Tyrant got.
But yeah, Rippers have DS built in now, which is basically why they exist - 33 pts for a troop slot that is *tiny* in terms of being targetable. They can completely hide behind pretty minimal cover, so are great for jumping up on out-of-the-way objectives and just chilling out. Also can play the "I need a unit for linebreaker" or whatever (because Nids are so castle-y). Their strat is actually pretty cool, too. Gives them some utility in maelstrom to force extra casualties.

Love that - taking 2 or 3 units of rippers for 100 points might just be a must take, so we can wait till turn 4 or 5 and drop them on the board where we need them to score

Never mind. Patrol does just need one. But battalion does need 3 troops. (forgot I got a digital copy). Carry on good sir.
