Yeah, it can shoot/charge after falling back, and move over infantry... not easy to tie up.

Patrol only needs 1 troop choice, its 1 HQ 1 troop. You're thinking battalion. Nick I'm serious look it up. Patrol is 1 hq and 2 troops and battalion is 2 hq and 3 troops. I don't have my book on me...thats another reason I'm asking as well. Lol I was going to say I'm literally staring at the page in the rule book, its 1 HQ 1 Troop

Jesse - he can retreat and charge in the same turn, his guns are S10 AP-2 2D6 Damage, Macro 6 (meaning they hurt other super heavies even more); he has 2D6 pistol shots at S5 AP-2 D1 when in combat, and his CC attacks are 6 S20 AP-5 2D6 damage OR 18 S10 AP-1 Damage 2 for clearing hordes. Thing is a beast!
Oh and every time it suffers a wound in the fight phase, on a 4+ the unit that caused the wound takes a mortal wound (acid blood)

Yeah.... He is a beast. Probably one of the hardest lord of wars in the game. Those cc attacks are insane, but if you are going to use rippers to drop objectives then you might be fine. Nick you have one of these monsters? Dude post some pictures.

Nick you have one of these monsters? Dude post some pictures. I've got one - I've got almost 10,000 points of Nids, used to have even more - around 13,000 points in 2013. Got rid of some of the big stuff that never saw play, like my heirodules (who were trash ruleswise, worse than a wraithknight but double the cost) and some of the big monsters (I had 4 tervigons, slimmed down to 2; 10 carnifexes, slimmed down to 4 with different builds; 2 tyrannofexes, slimmed down to 1, etc etc). I should get the whole lot together for some pictures and post them up. I actually need to find a way to base my heirophant, right now its just supported by a brass rod, but I would like to get some hardboard cut out in a rough shape to secure it to.

Yeah, I wasn't sure if a few hordes of Crusaders would just be able to tie it up one after the other. It appears not.

I think the only way to take it down is hit it with a debuff to penalty to its hits and hit it with many small squads that can put the hurt on it. Otherwise big targets vaporize

Or you throw a bunch of those assassins at it to slow it down. The ones that forces you to hit it on sixes.

Its definitely a tough cookie to crack, but it also can't do a whole lot each turn - kill a unit in combat, maybe, and shoot a couple of vehicles, but its realistically only going to be able to remove 1 or 2 units a turn, and can't hold objectives, and needs synapse...so if you kill the neurothrope, and the rippers, you can win on objectives alone. The thing can only move 12" a turn.

Yeah he's a pondering big beast, that's for sure. He can advance to go a bit further, but then he's not shooting, so that's a big win for opponents. More likely he gets deployed on a flank and just eats his way across the board all game. Its either he tables you, or you win on objectives, but not really any inbetween haha
But again this is just a stupid "what if" list, nothing I would actually bring to a game by any means. Maybe an apocalypse game, when the Chapter Approved book comes out in a month or so with new updated rules for it

Bruh, do you even Onslaught?
It'll be fun to break these duders out for apocalypse, though. It'll feel good to be rolling 2d6 dmg vs knights and other bigger targets.

Yeah, you just need six Las preds with HK missiles combined with a chapter master and lieutenant. Make sure to use the predator stratagem and it'll be gone pretty much first turn. But who runs around with that?
Maybe a talon or two of Leviathan dreads could kill it too.
