Did anyone else back this? Found it last week on faeit and backed it, it ended today. Made by C'MON, it's basically GoT themed warhammer fantasy:
The kickstarter was seeking 300k and got over 1.5M and all stretch goals so it's a TON of lannister, stark, bolton, mormont, and random npc minis (I think grand total is over 200). Early reviews say it's literally 8th Edition fantasy mechanics with got themes and characters with alternate activation and stat cards.
I cannot freaking wait.

I saw it myself and was thinking strongly of backing it, but didn't as a result of all the other things I have to paint and that it is going to be a product for sale in stores after the kickstarter like zombicide. That said, the models are awesome and I love the GoT universe. I know Kyle in Arizona backed it, but I don't know anyone else who did.

That is incredibly tempting, especially because it includes non-combat characters.

I backed it figuring that by the time it comes out in spring/summer next year, all of my active armies will at least have the 2000 points we usually play painted in full; and because everything is color coded so its not necessary to paint it up right away. I'm going to treat it more like a board game than a wargame, I think - and when I do paint them, likely going to be base colors, wash, drybrush - nothing too nuts, nothing too detailed.
Also the stuff you get for backing the KS is just nuts - not only the starter set, but a ton of add ons to both the starks and lannister armies, and an entire bolton "mercenary" army to boot. Should be a fun way to usher in Season 8 next spring/summer!

Yeah so even with a late backing, you still get all that extra stuff? Seems like a crazy deal.

I saw this and also seriously mulled over backing it. However, I'm a little burned at the moment because, as of today, I'm still waiting on my last CMON Kickstarter to come in (Massive Darkness) which was supposed to be in months ago.(I know, I know. It's a kick starter, what do you expect?)
Anyway, I'm interested in this, definitely, but figured I'll wait til it comes out in stores to check it out.

Especially since theyve priced those individual boxes at $30 each! At that price, this is easily $350+ worth of models alone.

Dammit, if there's actually going to be you clowns buying in, I'll do it myself when I get home from work tonight. Peer pressure. . . I hope there aren't any bridges to jump off of.

I think my main worry is that the other armies end up way more expensive than the Stark/Lannister forces in the kickstarter. Cause that becomes prohibitive for new players or folks sick of seeing the same two armies duke it out. On the other hand, this is a great deal and the vast array of characters should make each game play out differently.
Also, did they say if the alternate sculpts have different rules? Ie. The 3 versions of the Mountain.

They don't say for sure but my thought is, if it comes with an attachment card, it means it's rules are different than the other versions. Or at least I hope so!

The fact that the sculpts have specific heraldry on them and the models are all one piece is frustrating. Still, you can file symbols off and paint them different colors. And hopefully when they introduce new forces they'll come out with new starter sets (Baratheon vs. Targaryen).
