I like the range. 8" was brutal, and i dont think I ever affected enemy psychic tests with it. But i frankly liked being more punished for instinctive behavior, from a fluffy angle. Dude I am so pumped for this army though. I dont even know what i want to add. More trygons? Stealers? Tyrannofexes? This looks awesome. And if our ranged weapon options are actually good now? H venom cannons look solid. Twin linked devourers actually having double shots! Im also loving the behemoth tactic. Rerolling charges is gonna be huge. Everything I saw seemed to point at devourers still being nerfed, did I miss something? I hope so, would LOVE to have 24 shots on my 2x TL devourer carnifexes (now with +1 BS!), or 24 shots on my 2x TL deathspitter flyrant!

I'm excited to see hvc's get a little love... I'd love to see them be a more legit cannon option

Does this mean you're going to be able to stack either a buff that makes Carnifexes -1 to hit or Venomthropes with an army wide buff that makes the army -1 to hit from over 12" to get a net -2 to hit (which would potentially stack with the Forgeworld HQ that give out another -1 to hit for a net -3 to hit)? If any of my units had shooting ranges greater than 12" I'd be horrified.

Okay, I thought it was just Venomthropes and the Carnifex upgrade that didn't stack: it's good to know none of the other neg to hit stacks with either of them.

It confirms the leaks except for how they made a typo with gorgon and pasted the hydra trait twice.

Yeah they already corrected it, it shows the Gorgon trait as rerolling 1s to wound which is nice for big things like swarmy, but not sure it will be more useful than the rest of the traits.
I'm already seeing myself taking different traits on different detachments - Kronos on my vangaurd detachment with hive guard and my exocrine, Behemoth on my battalion with trygons and hormagaunts, and another vanguard with Kraken full of genestealers to make sure I'm covering the most ground. They all look like they have a place in the army, I'm really excited to see what the changes in points values looks like, if its in line with the Tyranid Hive rumors.

No offense against your plan, but i kinda hate how easy theyve made it to ally in different adaptations/traits/chapter tactics. I feel like the point of these unique traits is to give armies a theme, but they can be abused to min/max every unit with their best traits.

Like with marines in mind, i technically could have a ravenguard spearhead of hard to hit devastators, a black templar vanguard of vanguard vets rerolling charges, and a bunch of biker ultramarines to fall back and shoot.

It appears not to be among the Hive Fleet traits mentioned by the community site. And, yes, the mixing and matching thing seems like it will get really out of hand in the tournament scene.

I understand why people do it (awesome bonuses). I just wish there was like a matched play rule saying only 1 trait/adaptation/etc can be used per army.

I didn't do a lot of tournaments for 7th edition, but didn't some TOs implement a restriction to number of formations or whatever they were called? Doesn't seem outside the realm of possibility that could happen again in 8th.
