I wonder if this works for digital - I would love to get my $$ back or a voucher for buying Gathering Storm II. Great art and all that, but the rules are going to be useless, and I could use that money to get the actual eldar rules (and if they're in a book with the other xenos, well shit, that's all the rules I need baby).

Guys, GW is bringing back Squats. Kharadron Warp Pirates to come and help the impierium because the God-Emperor is actually Sigmar, and people got confused thinking it was Emps, but it isn't.

It used to be (implied) that the Warhammer world was located somewhere in the 40k galaxy, maybe in 8th it'll be revealed that the 40k galaxy is actually one of the mortal realms. Then you could just play balloon dwarves against Tyranids.

This is pretty interesting. Looks like they are going to the AoS style combat order, as there is no initiative characteristic. This is will have a big impact on the usefulness of weapons like Power Fists in 40k; assuming they don't have some rule that causes them to swing last still. Also looks like LD for marines dropped to 7, so maybe morale is now like Battle Shock? More than any of the leaks so far though, 8 wound T7 dreads is exciting.

They said on the live stream yesterday that 40ks version of battleshock was making it in I thought so that makes sense.
I'm sure some weapons will still be strike last for balance, like power fists and the like. We'll know tomorrow, they're going over weapon profiles and how they work.
Also if you don't follow Pete Folley on Twitter do it, he's been adding additional updates and answering questions:
No alternating initiative for turns (so no double turns like in aos) No d weapons Rules will be digital and physical on day 1 No shooting into or out of combat

No shooting into or out of combat This is good; I was initially worried that shooting into combat would make its way into the 8th ruleset. I still hold out hope that pistols will be able to fire off one shot in CC though, as the classic Plasma Pistol really needs to find a home in the game.

So how's combat work in AoS? Is it just "we all swing at once" barring special rules (I'm sure there will be 'strike last' and 'strike first' rules for certain weapons - power fists and power lances come to mind)?
I'm less ecstatic about that, but of course that's with an eye on the current rules where certain units use their speed as survivability (aka hormagaunts/stealers).
Flat "I hit on X+" in combat is certainly streamlined, but... good? Again, depends on other rules... will modifiers be common? I do like the idea that how good your opponent is alters how often you hit in combat. On the other hand, I love that a 2+ to hit is now a thing.
Basically I want a Hive Tyrant to be scary in combat again. That is all. Good day.
