Also of note: perhaps ordinance weapons will be gone given that Battle Cannons are listed as heavy.

Well a twin linked rapid fire gun, like on say a landraider crusader, would get 4 shots at half range for each bolter. So at 12" a crusader is pumping out 8 assault cannon shots and 24 bolter shots. Anti infantry like whoa

My Stormraven is now horrifying I wanna know how flying transports are gonna work. Using that thing was always annoying from a logistical standpoint too.

I'm hoping d6 for a large blast isn't a set thing... hopefully more anti-infantry focused will be more like d3+3, but at lower strength/AP. There's definitely room for variation - that battle cannon is certainly good at clearing out a lot, particularly mid-range vehicles and MC's.
Melta's losing the S bonus is rough, especially for armies that rely on them for cracking heavy armor (Dark Eldar certainly know the pain of not having much beyond S8 lances). It really does depend on the Toughness of vehicles, though.
Well, maybe. Unless you get T16 you're wounding on a 5+ (far worse) but reliably doing 4-5 dmg when you hit. What was the T of a Leman Russ? Even T8 vehicles will be threatened by a single melta. It's hard to gauge the changes right off because it's just a very nuanced system.
Short version, I really hope Sisters don't get shafted - never played them but always thought they were really cool, and I def feel the pain of having a lackluster army. There's also always hope for Acts of Faith that give bonuses to certain squads to up the damage potential?

I think Melta, and by extension SoB, well still be very viable. You won't one shot that rhino every time, but you also won't feel useless against an all Monster army like Tau suits or Nids mc spam. The melta is just going to be a little less specialized, but much more useful in general. They will also be a great option to hit characters with, as the short range will pretty much ensure the enemy character is the closest unit.

Question for everyone: I don't recall seeing this, but for wounds distribution if I shot a melta into a squad of guants/guard/boyz then roll d6 wounds and got a "6" then would a single model be removed, or, like AoS, would the whole squad take 6 wounds and then you removed 6 models?
Cause if it is distributed like in AoS then melta's are terrifying.

The community page for weapons (the first one) reads: "[Damage] effectively lets a single hit deliver multiple wounds to one model." So it seems like we don't have to worry about spill over wounds.

All the most common options will be listed on the sheet as far as weapons, but for some things like space marine squads that can take a plethora of options, the full options will be listed elsewhere it sounds like, or similar to now you'll just have to know what a lascannon does/is from say the Devestator datasheet if your tac squad takes one. Power level is NOT points - its basically the quick and dirty eye test to see if narrative or open games are at least somewhat balanced. So you might have a narrative game and say ~100 power level per side in order to roughly even things out, but the full points for everything will be available in a similar Generals Handbook format it sounds like instead. They're going to go into power levels more in depth tomorrow as well. Overall I am getting excited, just knowing that they're not going to leave the game hanging like they did with AoS right off the bat - where there was no way of balancing an army other than just trial and error vs opponents.

Also note that this give us a good ideas as to what brotherhood of psykers will end up being. Basically giving them a weaker version of the same psychic powers that all psykers will know. Note that the sorcerer in the unit only does 1 mortal wound with Smite, instead of D3, and D3 instead of D6 if he rolls over 10.
That means that armies that stack brotherhood everywhere won't just be dealing out crazy damage left and right; I would expect that other spells they can learn would also have a slight downgrade in power, so that the overall balance of the army is pretty even.
Also note that you can take them in squads up to 20 - could we be seeing the same thing for tacticals? Are we about to have 30k style marine units up in here??!??! A BOY CAN DREAM
