Ah hell that green stripe is killer. Where on the bike are you thinking of putting the decal?

Daniel this is really top notch work, I love the green stripe on the black bike, to tie into the "Iron Hands" color scheme of old. Also love the idea of decals, maybe do a number offset on the front wheel guard, and the lightning symbol on the side of the bike near the back?

Thanks, gentlemen!
I was thinking of a symbol on the side of the front cowling, and I hadn't decided on the number placement. Fitting it in the stripe would be hard, and I'm worried a black number alone wouldn't stand out. Maybe a white number on a black circle in the stripe?
Maybe I should attach those skull-topped aerials and go real old school with a penant for each guy lol

The symbol is an army or campaign badge. It was a hang over from Rogue Trader (and to a lesser extent Second Ed.) when your armies had units from different chapters. I'm about 30% sure the second war for Armageddon was a skull in a circle?

And isn't the number the squad number and the colour of circle the company?

Cool bit of lore there, Andy! Maybe I'll make up some campaign badges to add fun stamps to the cyber-boys. You might've just convinced me to dig out my old space marine codices. C'mon Russell, you know I'm trying to act all chill here when in fact I've sunk an embarrassing amount of brainpower into squad markings. If you're going to go all Codex on me, then yeah the number-in-circle is squad number-in-company color. But here in cyber-town, we play by the rule of cool, baby. I read a little too much on the Sons of Medusa chapter organization and learned they have 3 pseduo-companies which each basically amount to three Codex-compliant companies, complete with vets and scouts and vehicles. Loosely based on the three sisters of fate, they are named rather than numbered, similar to the Iron Hands clan companies. At some point I decided this batch of guys would be from the Lachesis company, so I've been trying to brainstorm visual representations of 'measure distance' besides just an outline of a ruler. Are you asleep yet? Anyways, for the markings, some ideas I had were numbering each bike, since they probably treat each one as a relic (like the Rhinos and Predators), rather than labeling them by squad. Then the rider could have his squad number on his knee pad, like the tacticals. It would be cool to use a cog-like war clan symbol on their right shoulder pad, but who wants to freehand that on every single guy?! ...oh, hmm.

I like the idea of the bike itself being a relic - its not that the bike itself belongs to that squad, its that the squad was honored enough to be gifted these relic bikes to protect and use.
And it would be cool to change the decals on all the knee pads every time one of them dies to represent that the bike still lives but the rider died honorably in service to the emperor. /s

Squad markings on one knee and company markings on the other, that way when they pray to the emperor and the omnissiah they show humility by putting their colors to the earth. I love the idea of the bikes being relics. If you wanted to go full nerd, maybe make it look like every prior rider has been allowed to inscribe his name on it.

The bikes should have names rather than numbers. Latin or Ancient Greek words for everyday objects work well. Like Clavus. And Praecipitus.
