Oh boy I'm pretty sure that's when your boys in blue are going to shine the best. Instead of rolling to hits you'll be able to re-roll to hits, wounds, runs, and charges...well probably everything with 1 doctrine activated for one character. That would be pretty cool.

For me I really like the Santic Halo and Soldier's Blade.

Cheap initiative AP2 is solid and I like the idea of FNP although it never works out for me

I kinda like all of them. I like the Banner as well (granted sixty points), but this could make grav. drops a lot more dangerous, cause it doesn't specific when they die, but each time a model dies. Though its quite possible if the banner is wiped too then the effect won't go off, but if it does...

The problem is it is exclusive to honor guard... so you'd need to drop a suicide squad along with a pod of honor guard

You'll see... maybe with 3 drop pods then...honor guard and suicide squad, but can honor guard do?

Honor guard are the best combat marines point for point. 25 points for artificer armor, 2 a, and a psword is fantastic. Their main weaknesses are lack of mobility and an invuln.

Hot damn. Hmm I'll look into it now. Besides Psychic powers can help that.

Definitely. Are you looking at ultramarines for this stuff? The models are sweet, but have ultramarines iconography all over. Imo the best way to do them for other chapters is to use sternguard bodies with close combat weapons.

Not really looking into them, but I like list building a lot. Especially if it is an up hill battle... Dang I really wanted to go to adepticon this year... Ugh...

Is everyone just ignoring the fallen? Basically just gave space marines the equivalent of 30k support squads- every dude can take a plasma, melta, or flamer.
Need ap2? Here's your one squad to do it, 175 points.
Need antitank? Boom. 150 points.
Want board control/ignores cover? Good, flamers got ya covered.
I think they make CSM a fair bit better and give marines a few more options outside sternguard to bring the pain.

Nick, you could basically do that with Deathwatch though, and for 2 points more everyone gets the Deathwatch reroll ones against FOC type, and you only are forced to take them + a droppod for 145+weapons as their own single squad formation. I was hoping the fallen would bring something really cool to the table, but it doesn't look like it will be worth it. Cypher gives them Infiltrate, but then you gotta field Cypher (who is sweet, I'll give you that) which makes them pretty points heavy, and without him I'm not even sure how you'd take them.
In other news, the Grey Knight formation is hot garbage, although Grandmaster Voldus is fairly decent for his points, given that a GMaster (185pts) + DHammer (10pts normally) is already 195pts. You get ML 3 for usual 25pts (not otherwise an option though), Sx2 AP2 at Inititative 5 for only 10pts, and a Domina Liber Daemonica lite for 10pts (normally 25pts but get to reroll 1s when manifesting with the relic). Just the hammer would be an autotake on any beatstick HQ for only 20 pts, given that the Soldier's Sword is S-User AP 2 for 20.
Throw him in a Draigo-star and I think you're cooking with fire, even though GKs are fairly middling.

To be fair Nick, I haven't seen the rules for the fallen (else I wouldn't have stop talking about it), but what I keep hearing the formations aren't that great. Besides Rob is right deathwatch can do the damage better. Granted fallen gives access to such capacity to chaos marines, but if you pair fallen with just sm/imperial then well just switch them out with dw.but if you have the leak link for fallen I'll gladly look at it!

Yeah I didn't realize that's what Deathwatch could do, but even so - for Chaos, this is a huge boon. They don't have anything like that as far as I'm aware, that can bring that many special weapons to bare. Imperials need help like they need a hole in the head, but CSM gets a boost for sure.
