This is cool for armies of the imperium, but holy shit dude how much more shit can GW just gift to imperial players? Where was the change to Tyranids and synapse/shadow in the warp when the community cried out? Where was the change to CSM so that multiple iterations of Veterans of the Long War actually did something? Man oh man Even though I'm exclusively an armies of the Imperium player (for the time being), I completely agree with you. While I am admittedly happy to have whatever GW will throw my way, I do feel that the Imperial Soup has gotten the lion's share of the love lately.

Man oh man I suspect that we will see more response from them on those issues when the Chaos and Nid codexes are redone. It seems like they are being more interactive. Heck, they are even promoting Adepticon, LVO, and Atlanta GT on their facebook now.

Got my prospero box today, the sprues don't do it justice, these are some very cool kits.
Noticed that theres a tzeentch rune on ahrimans armor among his other Prosperian runes, really cool little tie in to his ultimate fate. Lots of neat little details like that.
Cj and jesse, I've got your custodes/sisters set aside. If anyone wants the SW character let me know or I'll throw him up on ebay.

Is anybody else kinda disappointed by the lack of variety/poseability of the mk3 sprues? Besides the thunderhammer, there are less weapons options. All the torsos and shoulder pads are the same, and there is only one left arm option that isn't holding a bolter. And why are the legs separated if they are still monopose? Obviously, they are fantastic looking and have plenty of detail. And there is a bit of variety with the different heads. But I was hoping to use these guys as veterans with some power weapons, so I can't help but be disappointed by the monotony.

There are 2 left arm options that aren't holding bolters, one bent at the elbow, one outstretched in front, same as the BaC set (and the standard SM tactical squad set). The legs are separated so that they can get different angles on them and create variation - each leg set itself is monopose, but to say the kit is monopose isn't quite right - every single set of legs is unique, more than can be said for the tactical squad box.
You get your powersword, power fist, lightning claw, chainsword, thunder hammer options. You get your plasma, melta, heavy bolter, bolt pistol/plasma pistol. The only thing you don't have is the combi-weapon from BaC, and flamers - but you're getting a lot more variation in the sarge weapons, so its a give and take. And I don't think anyone is clamoring for more flamers.
The MKIII is characterized by being mass produced and ubiquitous - the fact that they all look the same is intentional, because they're void-hardened and built for ultimate protection from radiation, phosphex, the vacuum of space, etc. Also the MK IVs were all identical as well - slight variation in heads (which the MK IIIs have), and some slight variation in shoulder pads is the only difference.
Like with all GW's kits, they're not going to give you every single option in the same kit. If this sprue had 10 power weapons (of each type too right? Sword, axe, maul, spear? - 40 bits), 10 combi wepaons (with the different attachemnts - flamer, plasma, melta, volkite - another 50 bits), arms enough so that you can either hold a bolter OR hold a ccw, so that's 40 arms bits. You see where this is going - the have never and will never give you EVERY weapon option available to a unit in a single box, its up to the player to go find extra bits/convert them as always.
I personally love these models, they're more truescale (seemingly) than the MK IV or 40k marines, and they just look so incredible with their face plates and backpacks, much bulkier. Having set my MK IIIs next to my MK IVs, they *feel* a lot more like veterans.
