I'd love to have that bonus come into play regularly, but as it stands, it's mostly a question of "who goes first" to "lose" their flyers in reserves... and then the other player gets the bonus. Unless an army already has some form of manipulation, then they can play on that to keep a flyer back, doubling down on it.... shrug. Maybe it'll play more into DE than I am thinking - I'd love for them to have a way to get a reliable reserves manipulation going on.
It's very sad for Nids, though, as it seems that by simply being not included, they always get some major penalties. Chaos Deamons too, unless they also have access to the Heldrake? Seems like a pretty huge oversight on the part of GW, but can I say I expect much better? If it weren't for that, I'd say this was a *very* interesting addition and will add some nifty little things here and there... as it stands it has an unfortunate effect on a couple of armies that simply can't do anything about it.

I'm fairly certain I'm going to bring between 3-4 flyers to secure air superiority now though. Reserves manipulation is something really hard to come bye for imperial forces.

Same with DE - barring the Comms Relay, I'm fairly sure they have zero options (outside of the one good Warlord Trait) for reserves shenanigans. Maybe Vect does something? It's really unfortunate, I think, that an Archon adds nothing in terms of special rules to the army, especially as their combat potential has been very toned down over the past two books. But that's neither here nor there...
Almost-gaining Vector Dancer is enough to allow me to rely on Dissie-armed Razorwings to play anti-armor (better vs AV 10 than lances). I think two in 1500+ is an easy accomodation, three would be pushing it but the patterns you can fly are quite nice (although likely to be short-lived, as DE fighters are not that durable all told). Unless you hit 4 and gain the massive slew of defensive bonuses with that one... but I digress.
End of the day, it feels good to actually be vaguely excited about something 40k related. Go figure. It'd be worth trying, at least. Maybe I'll drum up a 1500 list and see what it looks like.
