Hey guys,
With the list I'm looking to run for my Raptors being heavily reliant on reserve rolls I've been looking into what ways I can manipulate the rolls to ensure things arrive when I need them to. Thus far I've only found the Comms Relay, Strategic Genius Warlord Trait, and the Scrier's Gaze divination power. The named character Lias Issodon has a re-roll ability, but until FW FAQs him he doesn't fit in the list easily. Anyone know of other ways to get re-rolls or bonuses on reserve rolls?

Don't inquisitors give a bonus? Or is it just Docter McDoubleEagle, Coteaz?
Also, Autarchs. Easy enough to justify allying with Imperials under the right circumstances, and they allow reserve roll manipulation.

As far as I know Inquisitors don't help with reserves, and Coteaz only helps with seize the initiative.
Autarchs are definitely an option, and if its the only/cheapest route perhaps I'd use it in a competitive arena.

But really, I think Comms Relay + Aegis or Bunker is cheapest and best. Can give those Devastators 2+ cover first round and is pretty handy for the entire game. But the Bunker with the Escape hatch is pretty cool too.
Bunker? Whatever the freakin giant box is. I dunno.

Perhaps someone could clarify the rules for fortifications a bit, but as far as I know the only way to get one is through a CAD. Since I'm using the Talon strike force I'd have to take two troops and another HQ just for the Aegis. Anyone know of other ways to get fortifications? |

I've looked a little more and the Damocles rhino seems like an option. For 75pts it has the same +1/-1 rule that the Autarch does and can fire an orbital bombardment identical to the Chapter Master.

wouldn't you still need a CAD for that? Yeah I would. I think the CAD might be a useful addition though. For 370pts (putting my list at 1850) I get two object secured scout squads in a TSS, a Techpriest, Librarian, or Chaplain, and either a Bunker or Damocles Rhino. Those are all useful additions. |

Astra militarum command squad w/ astropath or master of the fleet. One of those guys gives you +1 or -1 to enemy reserves rolls.

I thought about it, but I believe you have to make a LD test on LD 7 inorder to get the bonus, which isn't very reliable. The Damocles, Lias, and the bunker all are a 100% thing. |
