In case anyone is interested. I don't know if this is behind or not, but I only found it yesterday. Not sure if it has any official release yet but I'm 90% sure this is real. Personally, I am excited about the idea of Xenos Terrain and I hope they eventually give it to other factions. It's a good sign that this kit sold out so quickly, which shows others want it too. The rules are pretty nifty, of course for a nice chunk of points.

Yeah this is the big Tau fortification that went up for preorder on Saturday, and promptly sold out immediately. This is from the WD coming out this upcoming Saturday, Oct 24th.
I think this is solid, but honestly I don't think the benefits it gives are warranted by the points. This thing is about the same cost as a hammerhead, ammo dump, and aegis line...but get rules that are soooo much better than those things combined. The fact it can move - and allows the models on it to shoot as if they had NOT moved - is brutal; and since its just terrain it can't be destroyed afaik.
Plus, the bounce back rule already needs an FAQ - my landraider crusader can shoot its bolters (S4 AP5) at this thing, and then those same S4 shots can bounce back and glance AV14? Come on now lol

Yeah, this thing looks pretty brutal. I mean, it's an awesome moving fortress that would look sweet, but not only is it a nice cover save that can move with you, any heavy weapons are having a field day on it, because reasons. *And* the platform itself shoots back when you shoot at it. Awkward.
So if it can move 6", how is rotation handled? I mean, it stands to reason that you can pivot from the center point as any other moving "thing" (think vehicles rules), but as it's basically one big line of stuff (or can be) the swing of it is crazy, and could catapult a unit a foot in a half in a given direction if that area of the board is clear. Although, maybe this comes from not being hugely familiar with the shape of the thing, but I thought it was more or less a long section a la Aegis line?
Telometry Readings (or whatever it was) - A way to make a buffmander even better, because *that* needed to happen. Heh.
Well, the up front cost is pretty substantial, so I guess you maybe won't see millions of them in lists for that reason... and is it even that nasty? Shrug.
Guess my gaunts will have to just kill themselves more than they already do when they try to shoot at tau from the other side of this thing.

Your forgetting its huge though and won't very easily maneuver across a board that isn't wide open. The turret is also t7 with 2 wounds and isn't behind any cover making it pretty easy to blow apart. The cover is nice though.

Also bear in mind that it cannot, under any circumstances as I understand it, move over any difficult or dangerous terrain - I think that means pivoting/rotating will actually be a lot more limiting then you think, especially the bigger it is. I would actually look forward to playing one, it could make for a really fun scenario of basically surrounding a Tau Base (risk city)

Ah yes, the open ground thing is a pretty big stipulation.
Hopefully it turns out more interesting/fun than annoying.

Come on now lol Yeah this makes no sense at all, but you're right, that's exactly how it's written currently. It would make more sense if a roll of a 6 caused one hit against the firing unit at the same strength and AP. Actually though, this is just a scan and no official rules have been released. We could just be getting master trolled. Looks cool nonetheless
