Hey, I'm sure some of you received my Facebook invite regarding this but I want you all to know about it and come out if you can.
On Saturday September 12th there will be a day of gaming held at Brainstorm in Wicker Park. During the event they will be selling raffle tickets and giving away prizes every half hour in an effort to raise money. Raise money for what you might ask? Well Sean, the owner of Brainstorm has a tumor on the underside of his thigh and he's about to go through an expensive series of treatments and surgery to beat it.
You guys might have never been to Brainstorm, and may have never met Sean, but he is seriously a great guy. For that reason, most of the in-store gaming I did in Chicago was at Brainstorm. He was always extremely welcoming and jovial and he didn't care if it was a game he didn't carry (or wasn't even on the market), he just seemed to like having people in the store.
As I said, it will be a day filled with gaming, and I know the raffles include merchandise from X-Wing, M:TG, area restaurants, and other stuff that's piling up.
There will be demos and full games played. They are also looking for people who might want to run something else. Want to run an Imperial Assault event or something else entirely? I can get you in touch with Matt, the organizer to make that happen. This could be a cool place to recruit some new blood to CST or if you haven't been to Brainstorm since they sold off the movies and created more gaming space, now might be a good time to check it out!
Finally, I will be there with the latest incarnation of Broken Contract doing demos and play testing. I'd love for people to come out and support.
Thanks for reading my rambling lines. I hope I see some of you.
