Giving Dex some practice for the Dojo Tourney, thought I'd try my hand at a Tyranid list with the Dojo restrictions in play. First thought is: its VERY restrictive for an army that relies heavily on multiple HQ slots, as well as self-allying to be competitive. I see Daemons and Nids suffering in this meta, while looking over Dex's tau list you would hardly tell that he's under any restriction at all! Should be very interesting to say the least!
Tyranids - 1500 Dojo List
HQ Hive Tyrant - wings, 2x TL Devourers, electroshock grubs
Troops 30 termagants - 30 fleshborers 15 termagants - 15x devourers 15 termagants - 15x devourers 1 Tervigon 1 Mucolid 1 Mucolid
Elite 1 Lictor 1 Lictor
Heavy 1 Mawloc 1 Mawloc 1 Mawloc
No Slot 1 Tyrannocyte 1 Tyrannocyte

Changed list to be more competitive. Even spamming mucolids doesn't work, because it gives you a MAX 5 units outside of Troops/HQ lol so you end up with like 200 points left over! Crazy crazy

Yeah drop the tervigon in to give them a T6 W6 critter to worry about, or keep in your backfield to give the termagant swarms synapse. Drop in the mawlocs near lictors if possible, throw 15 devourer gants in the pod to get 45 S4 shots off on the turn they land. Drop em both and roll 90 dice - enough to take down anything AV10 without question, and anything thats not T8 (fucking wraithknights) as well.

You end up with 3 Monsters and 20 minions running around with synapse...

The problem is with objectives - once the pods are down, there isn't a lot of mobility to go grab objectives with, but if the whole tourney is "only troops can hold objectives, and outside of a transport" like on the FB page, then eldar jet bikes have the advantage but no one else does.

I played against a demon list with the tourney restrictions and they can still be scary.
I will say that Tau and Eldar will suffer the least. Space Marines have it OK but tactical spam will only serve us so well.
