Hey dudes,
Nate from NDG approached me about the Brohammer site/community, and they have a concern that scheduling and events that we plan on this board aren't translating to scheduling and events on the NDG board, and therefore are excluding part of the community.
They ask that, if we plan on playing a game at NDG, or if we get more serious about the map campaign events/competitive tournament prep, that we also post about it on their site to include as many people as possible. This of course is limited to games/events that we plan to play at NDG, but I thought I'd share their concerns with you all as well.
Easy enough, if we want to use their space, they want us to include their community. Deal?

I have no problem with that, but I have no account on their board. Who do I talk to about getting signed up on that?

My only concern will be the inevitable hissy fit they'll throw when we even mention playing at a different place. Now I'm all for getting more people in on the things were trying to put together and I understand their concerns and desires, but the way they want to run their site doesn't really permit the more open scheduling I'd like to have. If we post a tournament schedule and decide to play a few games at nicks bro cave for example, will Marc and company takes it personally and ban everyone involved from the site? If we want to include the NDG community (which I'm totally on board for) then they need to realize that we're gonna play games at other places and they need to be okay with scheduling games at other places. Otherwise I just don't see it working.

I'm with Russell here. Especially when the other places aren't even stores but people's houses. It's not like we're all ordering online from third party websites while we're there.
If we can get Marc to be fine with gaming at people's houses when discussing large scale gaming events (our tournament, the campaign, etc.) then that's cool. Obviously we won't be using NDG's board when scheduling one-off games at someone's house or anything like that, but it would be nice if he understood that somebody's home isn't competition for the product he sells. It's not like we're renting the tables.

I know I'm not a heavy poster and can't get games in that often but I'm with Russell on this one.

This all sounds reasonable, who wants to express the concerns to them?

I already brought up that very same issue to Nate last night when he broached the subject with me; the only thing they request is that, if we plan on using NDG space for a specific game/event etc, that we post it there. They don't want us posting about my bro cave, other people's houses, etc, and they understand that the open scheduling was a big factor for Russ creating Brohammer.
But if we post on Brohammer about "Jeff and Cj having a game at NDG on thursday", they just want us to cross-post it on their site so others know that people will be a-foot if they want to chat, hobby, get a game, etc.
If we want to plan a tournament, using NDG tables, they just want us to let them know and post it on their site. If we want to run a campaign at my house, or kyles house, or go to Russels for a friday night beer/game night, they don't expect us to post it on NDG nor do they really want us to.
I think its easy enough to do and shouldn't interfere with anything we're doing here on Brohammer.

Got it. I usually at least try to mention if I'll be in on any given day. I think I can afford them this courtesy.

And I told Nate too that we are very good about posting on their site if we're looking for a game or coming in for a game, but he saw that we had a "tournament" planned (bros in the snows) and thought that we were doing a REAL tournament without including the other players at NDG but using NDG tables, which is why he brought it up.
I explained to him that we created this board so that we didn't run into the same issues as in the past with planning events/campaigns/other games etc, and as as jumping off point for the podcast, and that we had no interest in affiliating the podcast or the brohammer gaming group with NDG directly, but that we could easily post on the site whenever we are heading in for games.
He also said they wanted to start playing the podcast in the store, if we can keep it more or less PG, to which I replied "not fucking likely" lol

This is the correct answer; I find it difficult to fully elucidate my thoughts without the occasional F bomb. But I do appreciate the offer.

Since I am working at ngd for the time I can try to stop any problems for escalating. as some of you know I have been working there for some time. If there is some event or something that you want to see at ngd I am more then happy to be the wishpers in Nate and Marc's ears. My main goal is to have this community trive and anything I can do to help I am willing to do. As to the website if you do not have a account sign up and let me know if you are not approved let me know and I will make sure those with the power to approve will. Nate is more than willing to work with the community and understand the Marc can be abrasive so if there is an issue there let me know and I will do what I can to help. Let me know what I can do to help in any way. My number for those of you who do not have it is 773 330 9361.
