I have aquired my tools and am preparing to assemble. Any suggestions you wish someone had given you before to turn these totally re-sellable in box necrons into a focule point of rage and frustration?

Just make sure you clip the pieces carefully, and build according to the directions. I got cocky early on when I started the hobby, and started building models how they looked like they were built...and ended up with huge mistakes that ended up needing a hobby knife and an hour more to fix.
Also mold lines - trim these down with a hobby knife or a mold line scraper, and the overall product will be so much better looking once painted.
Oh and one more - a little glue goes a long way. Do no over do it, you'll end up with gummy, bulky, detail-obscuring chunks of glue in the joins and again the overall product suffers once painted. A drop will do ya more often than not!
EDIT: one more - dry fit pieces together, to make sure the join is properly fitted. Especially for big pieces in the necron army, transports and the like - they get complicated, so dry fit before gluing to make sure the pieces aren't put on backwards etc.

Excellent, I have copious knives and scrapers and files to make them pretty. Once they are assembled I can start the fresh hell that I imagine is painting

Be careful to clip/cut things off the sprue closely and precisely. Sounds obvious, but it's irksome to remove the extra bit of spure you accidentally left on there (or worse, realize you cut off some of the model), and it's an easy oversight to make in the process of cutting out your first thousand bits of plastic. I left a surprisingly large number on my first infantry and tanks.
Also, for real, go light on the glue. Too little is an easier fix than too much.
Similar thing with painting. Thin that shit with water and don't just slather it on. If it comes out crap, which it probably will, stripping the paint is time consuming.

Warriors are unbound, and the glueing begins today, so wish me luck. Is this goes smoothly hopefully I will have a field able army (albeit unpainted) soon.

Ok folks....magnetization....worth it or a pain in the ass? I am considering magnetizing my ark and barge, but if it's not really functional I will just grab extra models (I don't see myself using their alternate builds that often)

For infantry, a pain in the ass. The ark/barge is probably a good move - and reasonably easy as well. With the Ark, you really only need to magnetize the top connection point - glue the "ribs" upright to the bottom connection point per usual, and magnetize the Warriors that ride inside, and the alternate weapon. Then you can just pop them in and out with the doomsday ark, instead of having to muck around with 3 ungainly/large/heavy-ish pieces being magnetized.
If there's one thing I've learned through my years of warhammer though, its that while initially magnets are great for trying out various builds, eventually you'll settle on one as your go-to, and never ever use anything else lol I can't even count on both hands how many tyranids, space marines, vehicles, eldar/dark eldar I've ended up just gluing together over the years after taking all the time to magnetize.

Yeah.....again I feel that way about the Ark, they are so great as a warrior transport/medic station/fire support why would I use it as artillery
