So, I'm moving to New Zealand to live the life of a hobbit, pretty much as soon as I can get a visa (which is looking to be around September time).
It seemed obvious that now would be a good time to downsize my armies, and get rid of excess model (cough cough....ultramarines.....cough cough. Ahem, excuse me). But I also thought, why not go further. Why not get rid of everything?!
I have to admit, this hobby does border on the lines of addiction at times. I know there is a gaming community in Auckland, but chances that they'll be as fun/awesome as this group is pretty slim. I have a lot of Bro love for you guys.
It's a Head vs Heart matter. My Head tells me to sell everything and not look back. My Heart tell me, you foul!
What do you guys think?

It'd be a good way to meet some new people as soon as you get there, might be worth keeping at least a small force. Also remember how retardidly expensive 40k is down under. On the other hand how much trouble would it be in shipping/packing/etc? My gut says don't get rid of all of it or you'll end up with new models within a year or so...

Also, you can go, meet some gamers, realize our American dicks are the biggest out there, then sell all your stuff used there for much more than you could here and fleece those Kiwis for all they got.
However, I think they just use Monopoly money down there so you can just stock up on Hasbro before you go and it's the same difference.

If your heart is telling you that you are foul then I submit your problems will not be solved by dumping your model collection.

I would say don't do anything rash, and figure out your motives for getting rid of some or all of it. If the Brit is getting out of 40k, what chance do the Americans have?

Just sell me your jetbikes, and then keep everything else. (but seriously...I need a few more jetbikes lol)

I'd agree that keeping even a smallish (2k?) force would be good to help in meeting new people. Plus having a hobby to fall back on will help maintain some stability during such a drastic change.
