For the first month, I'm going to commit to 3 things - the first two, to kick off my Necron force in style, and the third to continue painting my back log of Dark Eldar models: - Necron Destroyer Lord
- Necron Overlord
- 4 Grotesques
The biggest challenge for me is going to be spraying everything black - living in the city in a high rise, there's not exactly a lot of time/places for me to sneakily take toys into alleys and what not to spray. Once I figure out that part, I should be able to knock out the necrons pretty quickly, though the grotesques will probably take some doing since they're all fleshy etc. Pics to come tonight of the "before" for the Grots and Destroyer - however, the Overlord is sitting in a GW warehouse somewhere still...once that arrives, before pics will be taken.
As mentioned before, here's the scheme I'm gunning for with the 'Crons - its a slight variation on the Novokh Dynasty white/red scheme:

Well, with the necron stuff its just single models, so that should only take a good couple evenings each - if that. For the grotesques, I figure I can dedicate at least one weekend to just painting this month, which should see them finished. I just finished gluing together the 4th and final Grot, so once I can get them sanded they're ready for spray.

Are those grotesques the ones you converted?

Si senor, si. I just finished up the 4th one too: The whole group: And my first destroyer lord, converted from a Lychguard and a destroyer body on a standard base (I'm going to be using standard bases, vs clear plastic, for all my destroyers/jetbikes/spyders): Cheers, WIP pics to come!

That was on purpose - I had 35 points left over and was like "welp, might as well throw some liquifiers in" to make up the difference. I can always make another 2 without liquifiers, and swap them out as needed...or tell people to GET OFF MY BACK AND QUIT STIFLING MY CREATIVITY MOM

My GD necrons still haven't arrived from GW, because one of the finecast characters I ordered (cryptek, so not even at all a niche model) has been out of stock.
SO I have to update my pledge - destroyer lord, 4 grotesques, and Necron Spyder instead of the Overlord.
EDIT: LOL JK my overlord came today. I'll just add the spyder to the list too anyways, so I can knock out all 3 necron minis at the same time.

Almost done with the two necron lords, and getting the spider underway today. Started to prime my harlies as well in prep for next month...and I have no idea how the hell I, going to paint them. Like at all. All of the codex models just seem to clash too much for my taste, so I'm not sure what I'm going to do there...suggestions welcome.

Alright big progress made this last week! Once my necrons actually came in, I was able to get them modeled, primed, and painted in just about a week. Behold, the modest beginnings of the Novokh Dynasty (bases not done, because DragonForge bases take 3 weeks to ship ...): Destroyer Lord with Warscythe Overlord with Warscythe My favorite - the Spyder; I'll probably be grabbing a few more of these guys, he was so GD fun to model and paint. Finished the bases on the Grote's yesterday, will be doing all basecoating and first layer of washes on the actual Grotesques tonight, hopefully with second layer highlights and finishing touches tomorrow. Cheers!

Looking great, I especially like the highlighting on the red. Gives the richness some punch.

They look way better in person - I took these on my phone late last night, and lighting was terrible, but I was too excited not to share. Will try to get better pics tonight and see what's up. Anyone who came out on Sunday got to take a peek at them too (so, just Jeff and Russell).
