I love this FAQ, really feels like GW is listening and solved a lot of the key issues with many soup lists without actually making soup itself harder to use - just the key components *of* specific soup lists like the castellan, ynarri soulburst in general, craftworld powers effecting non craftworld units, etc.
Feels like codex purists are going to see a lot more play! So excited. Also feels good I can use my castellan without feeling like a punk.

I would argue that the close-range Castellan was never really a problem, and the ranged Castellan (while strong) needed the CP battery to become the monster it was. However, I am not going shed any tears for it.
I am really interested to see what the new "go-to Knight" is after the Castellan. Additionally, how will Tau perform? Tau were always really close after the big soup lists and with this we might see them on top results. I still think Orks are going to do amazing, Eldar Flying Circus will still be a thing, Guard will still be present.

Well the castellan is the long ranged one, the close ranged one is the valiant, and its point cost didn't change.
I actually don't think the eldar flying circus has as much leg as it used to, since part of what made it good was that 7 flyers have a decent base size and they could "hem in" horde armies and RAW prevent them from moving, while also preventing them from charging them since they're flyers, and could just circle around the enemy army like sheep dogs herding while shooting them to death and using psychic powers.
Now that they don't block movement, they're going to lose out on board control to horde armies which is a huge thorn in their side. Much more balanced armies should be the name of the game moving forward, but we shall see! Anyone know when the next DOJO 40k tournament is?

I always forget they have separate names depending on load out. Its actually not even loadout, they're completely separate unit entries! Not sure why they did that, probably to sell more kits I imagine

Fun story: Poxwalkers can get bigger that their starting strength again, you just have to pay the reserves cost for them in matched play. I feel like poxwalker shenanigans are not competitive, but they sure are entertaining.

I feel like poxwalker shenanigans are not competitive, but they sure are entertaining. Honestly I thought this was how they worked since the initial nerf.... I still think there are very few times I wouldn't take plague bearers instead, but we will see what CA brings in terms of punishment for soup armies. DG is in a very odd position in which the same rule change could either help or hurt them, given their Nurgle synergy. Honestly given that our codex strait up contains Nurgle Deamon models I feel like you would have to give that combo a pass on any specific nerfs...or redo the codex
