I also went a little nuts on the Leviathan, declared him Nurgle's handsomest champion, and decked him out accordingly. <iframe width="81.63999999999987" height="40.200000000000045" style="position: absolute; width: 81.64px; height: 40.2px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 4px; top: 37px;" id="MoatPxIOPT1_14742078" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="81.63999999999987" height="40.200000000000045" style="position: absolute; width: 81.64px; height: 40.2px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 3955px; top: 37px;" id="MoatPxIOPT1_55540624" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="81.63999999999987" height="40.200000000000045" style="position: absolute; width: 81.64px; height: 40.2px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 4px; top: 1956px;" id="MoatPxIOPT1_40735053" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="81.63999999999987" height="40.200000000000045" style="position: absolute; width: 81.64px; height: 40.2px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 3955px; top: 1956px;" id="MoatPxIOPT1_1864126" scrolling="no"></iframe>

Looking for input here-
My Death Guard are all going with the original white color scheme (similar to what CJ is doing) and all the pre-heresy vehicles are sharing that scheme.
I am considering using the more conventional green scheme on all the deamon engines (PBCs, Blight Drones,Haulers, etc). I figure this works thematically since they have asking later, but I thought I would see if you guys thought it was a good idea, or if I should just stick to the white base for the whole army.
Talk amongst yourselves.

I think it could work both ways, it's totally up to you.
If you think of the daemon engines as formerly normal machines possessed by nurgle daemons, then having the original scheme could still make sense.
But if you want to show that they were more corrupted to the point the white armor gave way to putrid green grime and filth, that would work amazingly as well.

I finally settled on a color scheme (went a little darker) and a bio for my Death Guard Warband. In the meantime while I wait on a few additional paints/washes I need to finish up my first few marines I am re-working some walkers so I can prime them (again) I was never happy with the tiny melee arm...it wasn't dynamic or threatening, and just looked out of place. I subbed in a Mauler Fiend arm and am very pleased with how it fits and looks. Now that I see it, I am pretty sure the Soul Burner arm needs to be replaced as well...

I am working on the other body I got out of the box set, this one is meant to be a bit more demonic. He will get another Soul Burner Arm as well, probably a Mauler Fiend conversion to keep the size uniform. <iframe width="81.63999999999987" height="40.200000000000045" style="position: absolute; width: 81.64px; height: 40.2px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 5px; top: 36px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_56004695" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="81.63999999999987" height="40.200000000000045" style="position: absolute; width: 81.64px; height: 40.2px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 3954px; top: 36px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_1608031" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="81.63999999999987" height="40.200000000000045" style="position: absolute; width: 81.64px; height: 40.2px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 5px; top: 1956px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_41229079" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="81.63999999999987" height="40.200000000000045" style="position: absolute; width: 81.64px; height: 40.2px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 3954px; top: 1956px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_54504619" scrolling="no"></iframe> I go back and forth on the shoulders...do you think I should make them larger (like the first model) or do you think smaller works better on this model?

Basic prototype color scheme I have some eshen grey incoming, has anyone here ever used that to highlight black? I would like to get some of the texture on the black cloth to stand out a bit

Here is a non-captain marine Also, after some finishing detail work, I am going to put a final clear coat on for protection. I am leaning towards a non-gloss finish, but I would like to hear people's thoughts on it before I spray a fully completed model.

I like it quite a bit. Your armor coloring is really good has nice depth. Eshin grey is a good highlight for black, but if you do that and then a thinner highlight on top of administratum grey or some other light grey I think it would really make the cloth pop.

Administered grey has now been ordered, any tips on this kind of highlighting?
Also,do you wash blacks?

Basically an edge highligh with the darker grey that is slightly broader than a true edge highlight, and then use the lighter color on top for the true edge highlight. And I do wash black cloth, but I use a purple wash if I'm going to do so because I like how a thin layer or two of that on black looks. I don't think nuln on black is necessary, but it is an option.

Adding to what CJ said, you could also try a dark blue (or maybe even dark green) wash to give the black more depth. That said, I don't know if GW has any appropriate shades or what they'd be called.

First Finished Squad. Love how they turned out, and I have it down to about 2 hours per model. Here they are, mostly finished First Blight Launcher Second blight Launcher Bolter 1 Bolter 2 BOlter 3 Charge discouragement The Boss I am going with the background of a war band that split off Mid Heresy that specializes in heavy weapons and possessed walkers. Still thinking on a name, going with the wife's suggestion of "Twilight Knights" as a working title. It fits oddly well wit the original Dusk Raiders, and sets up a nice beef with the Grey Knights over copyright infringement.
