So despite the all consuming hype of the ork codex threatening to swallow me whole, I'd be remiss to not remark on what comes next, and a leak today of Genestealer Cults' Warlord Traits seems right up that alley! Definitely seems like some interesting choices. That Focus of Adoration one seems especially cool for getting friendly units intervening en masse. Some interesting stuff from the GSC ahead. I look forward to crushing them under the WAAAAGH!

There are all very interesting. Shadow Stalker, Wall Creeper, Alien Majesty, and Ambush Leader all stand out to me. Right now, I think my go to would be either Ambush Leader or Alien Majesty. Have a small fearless bubble would be amazing for surviving that turn 1 fire if I don't go first. Ambush leader is so so so good. I can just make something do the best ambbush and then use Cunning Ambush stratagem on something else, very likely getting 2 units exactly where I want them. THe one major downside is that your Warlord is now on the field. If it doesn't work out, you might be handing them an easy "Slay the Warlord".
As of now, I would probably choose Ambush Leader and then hope he is fine and pull him back into Cult Ambush via "Return to the Shadows" in the next turn.

So this is super good if true - an abominant warlord with a max sized unit of aberrants with power hammers showing up right next to your opponent's pretty little knight titan will absolutely dominate. Or a patriarch with max sized unit of genestealers to charge your enemy's entire screening force and wipe them out. The Wall Creeper one also gives them what is essentially "FLY" from before the FAQ - making them one of the only units that could then charge over screens and get into juicier targets.
I really really like these. I hope they're real!

I mean, did people already forget screeners? Surround a knight with some guardsmen and see if its still easy to pull off that charge.

Sure, but I think people are used to screening forward and giving the 9" bubble in their backfield, rather than having to take into account a smaller bubble from GSC who can arrive much closer than normal. So a knight 9" from the table edge thinks he's safe, but then your ambushers can show up 6" away or whatever instead.
Like yeah, most people will screen for it if possible, but its still super good.

In fairness, if someone doesn't push their deployment to counter the Warlord Trait, that's just them not paying attention.
Also in fairness, since there's nothing yet to show that GSC can pop up T1 (afaik ambush is under the same rules now?) then there should be plenty of autogun-fire to clear some basic screens.

Ambush is indeed currently under the same rules of the FAQ. However, GW specifically mentioned that GSC will be getting something to compensate. What that is is currently unclear, but it may very well involve the same effect.

It seems like GW wants to eliminate any turn one deepstrike. Making GSC turn 2 deep strike much more reliable is more likely, which the warlord traits seem to support.

Considering necrons and orks both have methods of teleporting turn 1, that's definitely not the case for everyone.

Considering necrons and orks both have methods of teleporting turn 1, that's definitely not the case for everyone. Don't forget thousand sons. The dark matter crystal. As for turn one charges, I think they will have one and like the other factions it will probably be artifact of some sort.

A part of me think that they will either A) be reworking Cult Ambush or B) have some stratagems or <Cult> traits that will have something to do with that.
