While it will eventually be both, I am trying to decide which one to get for my Death Guard first.
Knights are awesome, but because I'm DG that Leviathan can move at full speed with no loss of BS.... Also the knight/Glotkin project is pretty involved, so it might take a while to get it in the table.
Conversely the Leviathan is FW, which I know since people seem to really hate.
Thoughts?

My vote is for Leviathan. It won't take up as many points (though still a lot), it can fit into your detachments, it's legal target for nurgle spells with the <DEATH GUARD> keyword, and also it is an awesome model.
Yeah dealing with Forge World kind of sucks, but it is still cool. Maybe check eBay?

My problem with Forgeworld is that it generally is more overpowered than most silly options in the game, and I rarely see someone put the effort into it that will make Forgeworld stuff look good. If you can make it cool, do it up.

If you can make it cool, do it up. This is more what I meant by the forge world problem, I think it has some balance issues. That said, I don't think Knights are exactly well balanced right now either, so meh. And of course I will put the effort in, kitbashing is one of the main reasons I went Nurgle |

Honestly I am still not really sure what the meta/environment is like over at Games Plus. Ours was always super relaxed, and that combined with the fact that I am fairly awful at the actual game meant that very few people ever seemed to care what I brought. I kinda get the feeling that they are a little more hard core over there, but I should probably go watch some more games.

I actually dont think forgeworld stuff is op in 8th. Theyve nerfed anything that was undercosted (fire raptor, malanthrope)

I think some ForgeWorld stuff is bonkers, but the point pricing does sort of balance it out. Everything from Forge World I have seen I would say is very efficient at what it does.

Yeah I'm with Eric- I've used some of my FW stuff (including a leviathan) in a few games of 8th, and honestly its no worse than a redemptor dreadnought in terms of damage output or survivability. And its a cool ass model (which is why I have 2 of em)

Alright then! I would say that puts the Leviathan out in front. I figure even with an entire redo of the model that can't take more than a week or so, where I figure the knight will be a month or more in the making if I can get everything I need form the two kits.
As it is now I am trying to get the exhaust system up and running for painting, which should speed either project along....but the spiders.
They come mostly at night.

Oh dude my painting/gaming dungeon is just chock full to the brim with spiders, its absurd. I actually had to clean a web off my airbrush yesterday, despite using it daily. I heard apple cider vinegar mixed with water and sprayed just...like everywhere, gets them away. But also smells like vinegar, so you know, there's that.

Mine vents into a window well and it's like Jurassic Park in there. The spiders come in through the ventilation tube so they can wait for me when I come to work.
As soon as I get back in October rebuilding the vent system and putting a stop to that is high on my hobby list.
I fucking hate spiders.
