I was honestly pumped at the idea of you kitbashing your Cawl model BUT this is so badass you almost have to.
Fingers crossed that them putting this out is the first step towards a Dark Mechanicum faction.

They've already got one, in the Horus Heresy setting that forgeworld creates rules and models for. I imagine it will be some time before they take those models and bring them into 8th edition, but in the meantime an ad-mech army that is painted all chaos and house rules to ally with other chaos forces is incredibly awesome.
On the model itself - I love how all the leg details and even the main body/power pack that the legs connect to all look like rudimentary Defiler parts - like this guy was the architect of the schism of Mars, and the first heretek, and is solely responsible for the design and original engineering of the daemon engines we know and love. I absolutely love that narrative aspect of the game, one of my favorite parts of the HH series is seeing the tie ins with what we know and love about 40k way back when things were slightly more innocent.

I'm really liking the cog with the rune in the middle. I think that is going to be added to every skitarii model. Maybe in blood on my line infantry's armor.

On second thought, I'm not thinking I'll pick it up as the price went from $80 to $124. Not sure why a 55% increase was necessary over the course of a week after release.

Well he was 80GBP, about $104 according to the exchange rate...now he's $124 since ForgeWold just yesterday (or maybe wednesday?) updated the site to be in local currency - so rather than paying GBP and getting the actual 1.27 exchange rate to USD, GW has a fixed price for all products in all regions. For a business its way less volatile, but for consumers it sucks HUGE - everything on FW's site went up ~20-30% on average literally overnight for US residents.
Cheaper and faster shipping blah blah blah according to their marketing but, man, that really really stings.

Ah, I must have overlooked the unit of currency when I looked at it. That seems more reasonable, althoughI enjoyed the friendly exchange rate when I last purchased from them.

Yeah I'm not happy with it personally, glad I don't plan on buying anything anytime soon from them
