Fun fact, jump pack units can fit in land raiders. I've been thinking about getting some transports for my blood Angel's, are the metal boxes OP or waste of points?

Do BA have access to land raider crusaders? I think those are solid. It might be worth doing a couple if you plan on putting most of your units in orbit. The problem is that they can get focused down by massed lascannons.

I know Rhinos and Immolators (read: Razorbacks) are worth it, but I can't speak to Land Raiders.

Yeah BA have land raiders, crusaders, and redeemers. And strangely enough their Razorbacks do not have heavy flamer loadouts I think.

I like Land Raiders. They are, of course a ton of points, but they do get a lot of work done and can take a ton of damage. Very powerful as a distraction unit too, especially a Land Raider Redeemer bearing down on you. And all the variants are good, I think. But yah, all in all, they are pretty darn good.

And jump pack guys can go inside! Not sure if that's old news, but literally never saw that on the table.

Remember, jump packs take up 2 spaces (same as terminators)

That's because they couldn't take any transport except for the Storm Raven until this edition, and possibly not even until the BA codex dropped - but its a solid change!

I have never used rhinos, but I have two...are they able to hold up in 8th? I am not convinced they are the most cost effective way to get a group of Plague marines from point A to point B

I think Rhinos are tanky for the points and are hilariously effective at tying up units/vehicles with assaulting after they drop their units.

I am not convinced they are the most cost effective way to get a group of Plague marines from point A to point B Rhinos are great, especially for close combat or short range units that can't deepstrike. They move 12+d6" turn 1 and pop smoke. Plus, they can charge in to absorb overwatch. They are especially good for light units like sisters but I think they can help plague marines due to their speed. Give them 2 combibolters for a little firepower too.

So good for either: 1. Specialized hard hitting units 2. Objective squatters

With Inexorable Advance giving me a longer rapid fire range and no deterrent to moving and firing heavy weapons my strategy has generally been to move slowly forward forward as a slow moving wave of fire, then drop a few nasty distractions into the backfield to disrupt defense...or when facing a horde army to not even bother to move and let them crash into me. With the point jump on my only viable drop pod, and the even bigger cost jump to the fire eagle gun ship I need a new way to move troops into the backfield.
My question is, are they just for getting you to the front line, or can they realistically rush all the way to the other end of the board?
