So obviously still waiting on the codex to drop before the end of the year, but since I have big daddy magnus as a gift from reddit secret santa, and a bunch of 30k thousand sons infantry and support pieces, I'm trying to fit together a reasonable 40k list so I can get the most out of my models instead of only using them to play 30k twice a year.
The idea behind the army is that the battle of prospero JUST happened, so Magnus has been daemonized but the rest of the legion is still just normal dudes, though now outcast from the imperium and forced into rebellion siding with horus. So that's why they're all still red with heresy era insignia and force organization
Battalion Detachment - 1583 points
HQ
Ahriman on foot - Death Hex, Gift of Chaos, Prescience (131)
Sorcerer in Terminator Armor - combi-bolter, Diabolic Strength, Weaver of Fates, Force Sword(154)
Troops
10 Rubrics - icon of flame, inferno boltguns, 1x soulreaper cannon, sorcerer with force sword (251)
10 Rubrics - icon of flame, inferno boltguns, 1x soulreaper cannon, sorcerer with force sword (251)
29 Tzaangors - icon of flame, instrument of chaos, tzaangor blades (196)
Elites
5 Scarab Occult - inferno combi bolters, sorcerer with force stave, powerswords (227)
Heavy
Hell-Forged Leviathan Dreadnought - grav flux bombard, 2x hell flamer, siege drill w/ meltagun (356)
Super Heavy Detachment - 415 points
Magnus the Red - Diabolic Strength, Infernal Gaze, Warptime (415)
Lots of foot slogging, just the one armored unit, and very few bodies over all - just a fun way to get some characterful models on the field in the form of ahriman and magnus, and a good excuse for using my tartaros pattern praetor tribune model and some leftover beastmen minis I've got kicking around. Don't expect to win many games with it, but Magnus and the Leviathan should be my main damage dealers while the troops try to hold objectives and the terminators deep strike in to target enemy artillery. Probably the least threatening way to play Magnus, I doubt many opponents will have a problem with this list.
