So last year, I started building up an Emperor's Children legion. I have calth, some kakophoni and 10 palatine blades, 3 jetbikes, plus a couple characters. I also built a 10 man close combat squad using some mk3 armor and a mix of chainswords and power weapons. Im not really interested in the 30k game anymore and theyre currently in my closet. I want to use this army for 40k 8th and Im trying to figure out the best way to do it that could use most of my models. I know that Nick and Alex doing something similar, but 30k EC are a bit different than 40k EC. Im also a bit more interested in the sleek, polished, melee aesthetic rather than whatever the fuck slannesh is doing with all the tenticles.
Any suggestions? I know the jetbikes are fucked, but i also dont know what to do with all the close combat guys.

Yeah unfortunately the jetbikes are a bit screwed, unless you just use them as normal bikers (which you could super do). But the rest should still be usable as basic CSM, raptors, chosen, and noise marines - all of which seem to be (from what I've read) decently useful in a Slaaneshi army!
A couple of units of noise marines with blast masters and one of their strategems nets them like 50 something shooting attacks in a turn, which is just bonkers good. I'd start there!

I guess Chosen are the all purpose vets and can be represented by anything. I wish there was some kind of command squad/honor guard unit like in 30k so i could differentiate my palatines from normal vets. Ill probably use the jetbikes as normal bikes.

Nick, how are you fitting in daemon magnus and your primaris?

You could run that as Loyalist marines, just make up some <Chapter> to unlock the tactics that fit your playstyle and go for it!
Assault Squads don't have to be equipped with jump packs, so you could pack your close combat guys in a Rhino or Land Raider for getting across the board. There are also a lot of Veteran Squads that can be equipped almost however you like, for those Palatine guys. Could run them as Chapter or Honour Guard, I think, they have artificier armor and power weapons so it'd be a nice way to make use of them as elites. I don't know how big the jetbikes are, but you could probably get away with them in a count-as Land Speeder role. The Kakophoni could just be Devastators of whatever flavor you choose, maybe grav-cannons makes sense with the way they look. Sprinkle some special and heavy weapons in there and you've got a Battalion's worth of foot-slogging Tactical Marines. Add Rhinos, Razorbacks, or Drop Pods to taste.
If you're into the close combat, sleek aesthetic you could also run them as a Blood Angels successor in a similar way. Then use the Palatine Blades as Death Company, maybe.
There are a lot of Characters in the vanilla Marine codex, so you could make use of whatever you got as Lt's, Cpts, Ancients, etc.
Let us know what you decide!

I might be interested in taking/buying a jet bike, if you can't come up with anything for it. I Might be able to convert it for Sammy for the DA. Though play around with the idea, like how Daniel said.

Nick, how are you fitting in daemon magnus and your primaris? I'm not fitting in the primaris - just my 30k stuff. I'm using daemon magnus, around 20 beastmen minis from when WHFB was around as tzaangors, kairic acolytes I picked up just to paint as cultists, and then just my normal thousand sons MKIV and MKIII marines as rubric marines with boltguns and soulflamers, my characters as sorcerers, and my terminators with power weapons as scarab occult. Then I'm using my leviathan, sicaran, sicaran venator, and contemptors as hellforged relics from the FW index. Its basically just my standard 30k force, using the CSM 40k rules, and swapping out normal magnus for daemon magnus. Just for funsies, not trying to make it competitive or over the top - basically treating it as a group of thousand sons that appeared out of the warp JUST before the rubric- so they're still in their old red armor, but still have the memories of the battle of Prospero fresh in their heads and a hatred for the imperium, and daemon prince magnus to lead them.

I mean, you can do the conversion if you dont care that it doesnt look like the official sammael model. Add tons of DA imagery and do a libby biker conversion.
