Thank god. Building lists is so freaking annoying without it.

what is this battle scribe that you speak of?? Have you not used battlescribe before? It's an army builder app. Available on android and iphone. Check it out. It saves an unbelievable amount of time making lists.

The only thing I hate about it right now is that you can't do mixed keyword armies without assigning each of them a detachment. Like I should be able to build a single Battalion Detachment out of both dark eldar AND craftworld eldar - because they all have the Aeldari keyword. But in the app, you have to give each of them a detachment on their own. Nothing too hard to deal with, it just means I end up with errors on my lists according to the app haha and I hate that red little (!) at the top! Also man, I really need to re-evaluate my dark eldar. Transports costing me 100 a pop basically is just not going to work. Wych Cults seem like the way to go, with their 8/14/16" movement and access to PICK your combat drug - but I have so many venoms and raiders it would be super shitty for me to have to leave them on the shelf. Or maybe we all start playing 3000 point lists so we can all bring transports

Yeah the cost of transport went sky high. Got 5 drop pods now im debating about even bringing 1. True they got beefy but when a single transport cost the same as a squad of marines or more I rather bring more foot sluggers or assault jump marines than pods. Especially now pods can't take dreads... :-(

I think we just have to think about transports differently now. They can fully move and shoot and even charge. Let them absorb overwatch.

But yeah, I don't know If pods are worth it at all.

Well rhinos I think are still worth it and I think venoms are too. Hey Nick does raiders have a better bonus to hit when they charge?

I don't think they get a bonus to hit, but they can take a shockprow that deals out mortal wounds when they charge which is decent. A raider full of wyches charging does like 4 wounds on average and then the wyches can fire their pistols into close combat each round as well so I think that's a decent use for them...otherwise I may have to wait and see what the webway portal ends up doing when they get a proper codex. Shame they should be one of the best alpha strike armies coming from the webway, but almost nothing has the ability to deepstrike or otherwise appear on the field outside of normal deployment

Turn 1, if you want to be in the enemy deployment zone you can get there. Add in the fact that the transports are pretty durable now, and you have a mobile gunline that has dangerous assault unit inside. Use wyches to lock up any heavy weapons that might threaten your ravager or venoms, and just shot everything else. Plus you don't want your infantry on the table until later in the game so they get the most bang out of Power From Pain.

In theory sure, but with venoms being 95 points and raiders being 115, it's tough to bring them *and* infantry in equal measure. Or maybe it's because I'm trying to bring a wraithknight and wraithblades too lol

That might be a reason but truthfully a lot of models went up in price in comparison to 7th. Think that's why I keep thinking transports aren't worth it. Well whenever I next play a game maybe I'll bring transports to see how they work. I know a rhino can tie up units by charging in now, so maybe that will be their worth now.

Or maybe it's because I'm trying to bring a wraithknight and wraithblades too lol I'm basing most of what I know about 8th edition DE off of some of the podcasts, and a battlereport Lawrence Baker from tabletop tactics did. He placed 10th at the LVO with DE in 7th, so I'd like to believe he's a good source. Here's the Battle Report if you are interested: www.youtube.com/watch?v=G-ZO1xD3lg8DE List in the Reportx2 Archons x5 Kabalite Warriors Squads (6 men each) x6 Venoms x3 Ravagers w/ x3 Dark Lances x2 Razorwings Tau List in the ReportShadowsun Ethereal x4 Breachers (5 men each) Firewarriors (12 men) x4 Devilfish Ghostkeel Storm Surge x2 Marker Light Drone Squads (8 drones each) I know one report isn't always the best to go off of in a game of dice; but even the Tau with all of their long range weaponry could not take down a venom until turn 2. The -1 to hit when targeting DE vehicles makes them extremely durable it seems. The Dark Lance also excels at wiping out anything with multiple wounds. It looks like DE are in a really good place.
