2000 Points of Guard, bodies beyond number

So, with the coming of Eighth, I'm going to be building up a big old Guard army using the Praetorian Guardsmen that I already own, augmented by the Victorian Guard from Victoria Miniatures. I've always wanted a big old blob of Guardsmen raining death by lasgun upon the foes of the Imperium, and now I feel encouraged to do so.

Anyway, with that preamble done, this is the list that I plan on building towards. It's made up of two Brigades, will have 21 Command Points, and will always go second (unless I seize). Tactically, I'm thinking of relying on defense in depth, throwing waves of sacrificial infantry as speed bumps, moving right up to the enemy's face using the advance order while the main force sits back. Advance lines will be staggered 6-9 inches apart prevent consolidation into fresh units. Also, I should be able to flood the board with so many minis that deep striking behind lines will be near impossible.
