Good color scheme. Do you use washes? I think it will help out a lot with minimal effort.

It has more depth and shows the details more. Which color wash did you use? I love using agrax earthsahde to wash karak stone to make a solid khaki color. A light drybrush of bleached bone to give a highlight would be my recommendation.

Makes sense. Try agrax on the next one and see if you like it. Even without the highlight I think agrax does better on khaki. I've found nuln oil gives its best results for me on grays, dark metallics, and purples.

Ebay is your friend. Or get an airbrush. Best painting decision I ever made, and I spent this morning priming stuff. And the dojo sells vallejo game air paints now.

You'll still have plenty of opportunity to use a wet pallet. Believe me. Admittedly, I'm not the best with my airbrush yet, and I dont get as much functionality out of it as the pros do, but basically, I use it for priming, pre-shading (if it's a vehicle) and basing. After that, it's all brush work, which means using a wet pallet. So you'll still get lots of use out of it. Besides, you might end up saving money in the long run. With an airbrush you can prime anytime, and it saves you from buying $17 rattle cans of GW spray primer!
