So what I'm gleaning from this is that AV12 is T7, AV11 is T6, so AV10 is probably T5. 3 hull points seems to be 8 wounds across the board.
I...don't know how I feel about that. On the one hand the article yesterday said dark eldar transports were way more survivable, but on the other hand 8 wounds and T5 will die pretty damn quick to small arms fire still. So it seems raiders and venoms (maybe 5 wounds?) are pretty paper thin still. That's a bummer.

That is basically an 8 man Space Marine Biker squad, and you have seen how strong those are on the tabletop.

Yeah I suppose that's true - plus for necron tanks I'm assuming we'll still have quantum shielding basically making them T8 until they get to a certain # of wounds or something similar.

Some things I like: Power From Pain is apparently a 6+ FNP for dark eldar units. Not as good as a 5+, but at least they get it all game instead of only turn 4+.
Also I see consolidating into new combats. 5th edition lives! My nids and dark eldar are quite happy about that. And I love that they mention the Nids will be the kings of combat again.
I am just so stoked for this I can't wait to preorder. If the rumors of preordering this weekend are true, I will be a very happy boy. Even if it doesn't come till mid June.

Eric formerly Eric They said in the Q&A that when using the Matched Play rules you cannot deploy an army completely via Drop Pods. In fact, no special rule allows you to ignore the no more the half in reserves rule for Matched Play. Drop Pods also deploy more than 9" away from a target and don't scatter.

Something also just occurred to me that I likely a huge boon for Assault armies like DE & Orcs; You can use your transports to charge targets you intend to charge with other units. This would let you soak up overwatch hits on the more durable transport and then charge in your infantry without fear.
I think I may need to invest in some Rock Grinders if this pans out.

Yup, I plan full well to do that. Same with the Nids and trygons etc. Use the big uglies to soak up overwatch for my more fragile dudemans, and let them do the heavy lifting in combat. 10 bolters snap firing at a trygon or raider is not nearly as deadly as snap firing at a unit of gants or wyches.
I love the depth of strategy that is starting to form in my mind just from these little snippets. I cannot freaking wait to start playing games you guys. And it should coincide RIGHT with my child being stable enough that I can go take 2-3 hours on a saturday to play while the wife watches her. #blessed #starsalign #justdadthings

Don't you have to set up outside of 9" when you place reserves? That would mean you still have to roll a 9.

Well you only need to get an 8" charge because you have to end a charge within 1" of an enemy model (rather than in base). That in and of itself is much easier: 8+ roll on 2d6: 41.66% Success Rate 9+ roll on 2d6: 27.77% Success Rate
