Norsca in-engine reveal - and gameplay coming today from the TW twitch channel.
Basically we've got the marauder themed army - war mammoths, skin wolves, ice giants, ice drakes, ice trolls, Throgg the troll kind and Wulfrik the wanderer, etc. Very cool! Free as a pre order bonus for TW:WH2, or $7.99 - comes out August 8th

I finally downloaded the game off of steam, though I have not yet started it, how steep is the learning curve to get into it?

Not very - if you've ever played an RTS - or a Total War game - you'll be able to step right into it. Some of the races are tougher to play than others, but if you start with something like the Dwarfs or Empire, you should do fine - even the tougher races, if played on normal, are not THAT tough.
Its a ton of fun man, I highly recommend it.

Total War: Warhammer II is out today - I downloaded last night on steam, but haven't played yet. Anybody get logged on yet? Early thoughts?

Playing Lizardmen. Just fired ritual two of five. There is definitely a clock that keeps you pushing forward (whatever victory you are going for).

I tried the skaven but didn't enjoy it. I am on turn 10 with Morathi as of this morning and am having a much better time.

Do they have a mechanic for crumpling your chariots with your hands if they lose you a battle lol
I think I'm going to start with lizardmen tonight - then do dark elves, then high, then skaven in that order. REALLY hoping tomb kings is the first DLC, in which case I'll jump straight to that before the others.
I'm not sold on the vortex mechanic, I kind of like having the option to do a slow burn campaign where I build up all my forces till I'm the #1 power and then go dominating everything in sight. Doesn't seem that's an option with this campaign, but it could end up being a lot of fun.

Do they have a mechanic for crumpling your chariots with your hands if they lose you a battle lol It's only when they fail a third consecutive stupidity check against an irritating adolescent that crushing them is appropriate. What kind of madman do you think I am?

Plus crushing any unit when playing against an 8th edition warriors of chaos army is fair game, WoC was basically cheating.

I can't disagree with that assessment, although I still think ogres were fantasy using the easy button. I'm finding that I really like the unit sizing in total war, particularly in that every game of 8th turned into one massive block with a couple flankers, whereas total war has numerous smaller units. It makes for a bit more thinking.

Oh yeah Ogres were really brutal, but the WoC characters were probably 1st tier for douchery - nurgle daemon princes with purple sun that just flew up your flank turn 1 and threw 6 dice to destroy your whole army, while having a 2++ invuln and only being wounded on 6s...and tzeentch lords with discs that had a 3+ 2++ rerollable and could literally steal spells from your wizards...god no wonder fantasy went the way of the dodo lol

didn't you always have both of those in your WoC lists?
