From Battle Bunnies: battlebunnies.blogspot.com/2017/03/the-last-resin-thunderhawk-official.htmlFW confirmed that they will no longer sell the resin thunderhawk - "The last resin thunderhawk from forgeworld has been sold". Announced this weekend at the Horus Heresy throne of skulls in the UK. In addition - this image of an as-yet unseen thunderhawk model that has very distinct design differences from the resin one is pictured in Book 7 Inferno - and looks to be a CAD design rather than an actual model image like is typically used in FWs books: And a comparison of the angles/wings compared to the resin version: Timeline is not yet certain, but this all adds up to confirm that GW is making a plastic thunderhawk model in the design of the CAD pictures above, if you ask me.

I doubt highly that that box actually had the new plastic thunderhawk in it, but it would seem that all signs are pointing to one being released sooner than later. The fact that the CAD design in the inferno book isn't even colorized/painted, would seem to mean at time of printing Inferno they hadn't even created one physically yet, so likely don't have the painted version ready or pics taken of it yet or boxes made up etc etc to be close enough to selling it.
But it does mean design of it is done, which is huge. I also could be wrong, for all we know they were just waiting for the resin one to break down before release, and have been sitting on it for years. Lord knows they've had the capability since about 2013/2014.
