Just a few pictures I managed to snap of the event today. 12 players, traitors (and...begrudgingly traitorous loyalists) along one table edge and loyalists along the other. A slew of various objectives and tertiary points made the game a lot of fun - managed to get a couple blank "score sheets" to copy for some of our events Madison, think they could be a blast! Anyways enjoy! Besides my thousand sons there was a word bearers and iron warriors player on the traitor side, vs 2 space wolf players, 2 salamander players, an ultramarine player, imperial fists, and 2 iron hands players. Ultimately it ended up being the 3 traitors plus 1 iron hands and space wolf players vs the rest. Tons of fun and the the IF army was the single best painted army I've ever seen - and of course forgot to get close ups!! imgur.com/gallery/HI5ib

I guess it was the mega battle? The name of it was Betrayal at Calth Box Bash. Every army list consisted of just the contents of the Betrayal at Calth set - 10 veterans, 5 terminators, a character, a dreadnought, and 20 tacticals.
The titans were just on the table behind us and I couldn't help but get some pictures lol

mcsardo how is everything on your end? Got knocked around pretty good (0-4 womp womp). Round 1 played Matt Schuchman, who made the finals, and his ynarri jetbike span with jetseercouncil star. He null deployed with the Ulthwe strike force. Was a close game till turn 6 when he jetbiked about and nabbed the eternal war objectives with assault moves. Round 2 played a corsair army with a Skathach, Lynx, Warphunter, 3 hornets and a mob of jetbikes. Was an ok game. I whiffed on my drop melta and made some movement mistakes and got eaten by the deathspinner templates. Round 3 played a whitescars demi company + gravcentstar. Grav cents ate my black knights and we went back and forth for a while on objectives, but he was able to contest two of the eternal war at the end. Round 4 played a craftworld list with a Lynx and Skathach. Got tired and misdeployed (was hoping for the seize on a 4+) in a game I could have won. Was still able to keep it close, but failed an immobile test and a run to grab two eternal war objectives at the bottom of 5. Learned a lot. Need to drop the RW from the lion's blade, too much D and ignores cover. More drop pods would have given me better deployment options. Had a good time; everyone I played was fun, and by round 3 we were just there to have a good time.

Yeah I'd say 2/3 the armies I saw Thursday and today for the team tournament were some version of eldar jetbikes + Lynx + skathach. Brutal lists, hope you had fun at least!

I actually didn't see an overwhelming ton of Eldar at the Friendly or the Long War Double on Friday, but there were a handful still there (including mine). I'm curious on a couple of things. The LW Doubles is still fairly competitive. I saw a lot of Daemons/Magnus/Fateweaver and I saw a few 4-7 Riptide lists. Lots of the demi-company. I think their tourney didn't have allies, or it was severely limited at least. Can you answer these? - What 4 units were in Schuman's Ulthwe Strike Force? - Did Soulburst happen a lot/critically effect the game? - Was Strength D unmodified in this tournament (meaning, 6's are allowed to be resolved at full BRB strength on the D chart)? If so, do you remember what units of yours got "6'd"? - Were the Lynx against you mostly in the air or on the ground? Did they fire the Blast Version or the 3-Shot version more often? - Do you remember if the Warp Hunters you faced resolved their D hits on a 2+ or a 3+ (this varies from tournament to tournament and is printed differently in two spots in the IA:11 book)

1D3chan Brutal, but I had fun. Mosts lists I saw on Thursday while walking around were Magnus+Daemons (either the Magnus cad, with fateweaver, brims, and the hearalds anarchic or the formation with Magnus, Fatey, and a Lord of Change) or some variation of eldar. Several 2 wraithknight lists, but not as much battle company as I would have thought. For your questions: 1-Schuchman ran 4 units of scatbikes in the strikeforce. Here's his list The guy I played round 4, can't remember his name, also used an ulthwe strike force with 4 sets of 2 scatter walkers 2-Soulburst definitely helped him, but the ability to null deploy and then keep the rest of his army away from mine did more. The psychic power that gave him a free soulburst action did some work, since it allowed his Jetseercouncil+Baharoth+Autarch+2Jetbike Farseers+2Shadowseers to shoot my guys an extra time in the psychic phase. He also got the Ynarri warlord trait that let him pick his warlord's psychic powers. 3-Unmodified ranged D. I only got one six rolled on me once, which fucked up my blackknight/Azrael unit. 4-Lynx stayed on the ground and used the Blast weapon mostly 5- I don't remember about the warphunters. Anyways, I know what changes I need to make to my list, and what to look out for in the future. Some deployment mistakes really hurt me in a couple games, so that's what I definitely need to work on.
