Looks like it's sold out for 40K, but I may actually swing by this place to check it out. Never heard of it, or the store...or any of this at all. Good find!

I'd never heard of it either. And when they mentioned a GT was going on this weekend in St. Charles on Signals from the Frontline, I figured I'd post on here to see if anyone else knew anything about it. Anyway if you swing by, report back and let us know what you think!

So I actually did drop by this. It was a nice event, but it reminds of exactly what I don't want to do with Tournaments and exactly why so many people have turned away from 40K.
It was just a classic, highly competitive, Win At All Costs Tournament. And it just makes it so painfully clear that the game is broken up into two player sets that are no where near alike. You saw about 10% of the total models/units in the 40K range at the tournament and the other 90% were no where to be found.
I don't know. It's like a different game. Seriously, it's like 2 different games. One is this weird Space Chess with Drop Pods, Riptides, Imperial Knights, Jetbikes and Grav. It's mathematical, its void shields and aegis defense lines, it's measuring to the millimeter. The other is 40K.
The worst part about it is when allies are not kept in check. So many desperate allies at this thing. So many patching up army holes. Beyond Battle Brothers, the allies function is really a bummer.
I'm glad that's now what I'm putting on at the Dojo, someone else can do that.
