Very very well done. Not going to lie, I was taken a step back by the effort. The system seems really solid, and I like everything thus far. My one possible suggestion, and I'd even suggest lets just put it out to community construction, is to just come up with a set of battlefield qualities for each planet. Orozon has a corrosive atmosphere so I think that should take its toll on living armies, like all weapons gain rending when fired at things that would normally die from poison. This would reflect the equipment those creatures need to survive being damaged for example. Just a thought on adding a level of play to the worlds.

The other possibility is to let the narrative play out with regard to environmental affects. There is a difference in fighting over a tunnel on Orozon then it's surface. There could be a difference between one district of Skel versus another. That prevents too many restrictions going down which from everything the packet presents seems to be the intent.
Overall I like it. I particularly like the challenge response manner in which games are organized.
Now someone needs to do something, so I can come up with a plausible reason to have a Regiment of Cadian Shock Troopers deployed somewhere.

Thanks dudes! I think both of you are correct, but am going to side a bit stronger with Matt's argument; environmental conditions can be decided by both players when constructing their battles as people might wish to interpret things differently or refrain from including them altogether. In the end, it makes no real difference if we all play battles with the exact same types of conditions or none at all, so that will be per player discretion. It should be assumed that it is strongly encouraged though, as it might serve as a decent catalyst for constructing operations and narratives.

I totally agree, I wasn't trying to be like "heres the environmental effects, you must use them" because for all I know you might be fighting your battle in the warp. I was looking for more of a pool of planetary effects that everyone could pull from if they'd like, mostly for balancing issues. Using the Orozon example again, My version of the corrosive atmoshpere might be really strong and make the game no fun for the other player. As such, community feedback on warzone traits would be a solid idea I think. The public sharing of them would also easily allow for different players to adopt other's traits if it sounded fun. My narrative idea pertains around my mission of The Order of Our Martyred Lady travelling to the Orozon system with the intention to establish a congregation of the Imperial Cult, atleast on the surface. The dual purpose of the mission is to additionally investigate the populace for xenos and chaos taint, purging the whole sector should it be necessary. (I intend to write up a narrative spiel for this) Your welcome to come with on that little adventure Matt. Its likely that the imperium would have deployed a guard regiment to assist in bring Orozon into the imperial fold.

Also keep in mind that there are 12 different environmental effects in the rule book that you can roll for...or just decide to use based on fluff/environment.

Totally down with Community census environmental effects if that's the way everyone's leaning. I also want to refrain from forcing anyone to adopt anything though; if people honestly don't want something like that in their games, they should be allowed to play without it.

I do have to add a bit at the end about Army Composition inspired by an idea Russell had with his Wraithguard though.
I'm gonna shoot for May 1st to kick this whole thing into motion. Expect a blogspot site, e-mail address, a little section here on Brohammer to make public consumption/communication a bit easier on us (thanks again to Russel, may his light ever shine), and a sparkly sector map that I put together with my measly Photoshop skills.
Loving what's already happening already guys. Keep that shit up.
