Anybody use these guys since AoD came out? I just picked up BaC and was thinking of putting them in a 1st Company Vets Formation in my ultramarines gladius (or just a CAD in smaller games). I'd deep strike them next to a pod with a homer. Are they best at going after MCs or MEQs, etc? I really like the look of the lightning claws, but I also have vanguard vets to go after backfield MEQs.

If your going to take Lightning Claws on terminators, cataparactii are the way to go. That said, Thunder Hammer & Storm Shield Assault marines are really the only viable choice of terminator these days. The Catapharactii Captain is worth his wait in gold though. Give the captain a Storm Shield and he's got a 3++ save that re-rolls one.

I'm not familiar with the options available to the cataphractii in 40k - but I know in 30k a common loadout is chain fists and power fists, to target the tough to crack armor of the 31st millenium (AV14 5HP spartans immune to Melta? woof!)
What does your list need more of? Are you having tough times with armor, meqs, or teqs? It sounds elementary, I know, but you can kit them out to tackle any of those roles - so whichever you need more help with, go that route. The 4++ invuln on them is killer, really helps keep them alive long enough to do their damage.

Well then I guess it's too bad I have only dark vengeance and cataphractii termies. Will it be reasonably effective to take 4 with lighting claw and a grenade pouch with one heavy flamer + pfist?
I guess it makes them kinda redundant with vanguard vets, but Id have both units clear out backfield threats while all my plasma/grav/melta/dev marines handle the midfield.
I think I have a pretty small sample size of opponents since most of my games have been against marines, necrons and skitarii

I really have only played against Skitarii, Necrons, and other marines with them. Chainfists are probably the way to go, but I just love how those lightning claws look. Otherwise, I'll just start a 30k army.

40k Cataphractii don't have a lot of options. In general, they are tactical terminators with a 4++ save. 5 terminators with Power fists is probably your best use. Hope the 4++ protects you against some of the ap 2 weaponry on the table, then use the fists to kill w/e you need to die.
