So I have slowly been working on my imperial knight. I've decided to go the freeblade route, so that I can try different colors that I've been using for my other armies. Plus I just like the idea more than specific houses. Anyway, I decided I'd post some exciting pictures of close ups of various parts of the model. Such as... A face! A chainsaw! A gun! There will be more as I finish more. And if anyone has an suggestions or ways I could improve it, please let me know!

I'm really digging the purple! Its reminding me of the Emperors Children as I read through the first 2 Horus Heresy supplements from forgeworld...keep it up dude!
I really like the scorched look on the melta cannon thing, looks great.

Looking great man. I always appreciate another piecemeal painter! It makes me feel less alone. Keep the updates frequent.

I like to do black cables with a grey highlight. Its understated but breaks it up a little. "Caution striped" cables are another option if you want a particular cable to have a lot of pop. It all depends. Don't go buck wild with colors though, that tends to pull the eyes away from the rest of the model in my opinion.
Looking great!

Every so often I'll break up the monocromatic look of silver cables with one blue and one red cable.

This is looking outstanding. Are you airbrushing or regular brushing?

This is looking outstanding. Are you airbrushing or regular brushing? It looks too clean to be airbrush - no overspray or mist. That all looks like meticulous base coating and line highlighting to me.

I airbrushed the silver as a basecoat using Vallejo model air (which is amazing stuff) but everything else was brushed on. I did also airbrush the purple on the torso (which I'll post a picture of later). Thank you for all the compliments and if anyone has any other questions please don't hesitate to ask.

As mentioned previously below is part of the torso that I finished this weekend. Also included is the banner that will hang by the legs when all is said and done.

As always, looking great. I'm going to have to fight against it when you're done if you're up for it. I like fighting pretty models.

Alrighty, please forgive the shit lighting. Anyway, it is basically done. I haven't glued it together fully, and I haven't attached it to base, as I'm coming up with ideas for it still. And Nick B, I'd definitely be up for a game once this thing is fully done.
