Here's the list I'm bringing to the 40k Friendly at 'Depticon. For those who aren't playing in it, the rules for army construction are a bit different - no lords of war, no GCs or superheavies, and specific unit combos are disallowed. You get bonus points for bringing a softer list, since the idea of the Friendly is just to have fun with fluffy armies instead of being OP. You also had to submit your list for approval by the TOs, and they send your list back with suggestions if they feel you're being too competitive.
Here's what I ended up with:
CaD - 1500 - NIDS BABY
1 Flying tyrant - lashwhip, bonesword, adrenal glands, electroshock
1 Flying tyrant - TL devourers, electroshock
30 Termagants - fleshborers
24 hormagants - naked
5 warriors - rending claws, adrenal glands
1 Tervigon - electroshock
1 Dimachaeron
1 Exocrine
1500 on the nose. Basically have two "wings" of the army - a shooty wing, and a combat wing, each with a flyrant, big MC, and blob of infantry to support it.
Tervigon sits on an objective and pumps out bubble wrap, termagants act as a screen for the Exocrine as he targets light tanks and TEQs/tarpit for anything I don't want to engage, hormagaunts act as screen/bubble wrapping for the warriors and dimachaeron as they advance. Tyrants do tyrant things - dakka tyrant targets light vehicles/flyers, CC tyrant goes after elite units/characters in cc. Electroshock to help with AV14.
Should be a lot of fun - its similar to a list I used to bring in 6th ed, that did fairly well in fluff games. Though back then the tyrant had the benefit of being able to charge on the turn he lands, whereas this time I'll likely just keep him gliding the whole time rather than swooping.
I still have time to submit another version should I choose - what would you guys change/add/remove in order to up the fun factor?
