... you know I never put any thought towards Tzeentch in the fantasy setting. Is he tied up with beastmen?

No, but the new thousand sons codex has access to all of the Age of Sigmar tzaangor stuff in it now - so you get the shaman, the disc riders, the tzaangors, etc. So basically its a beastmen codex lol

Goodness I'm behind the times. Is this a shameless plug for G-dubs to sell minis cross-platform, or is there a "proper reason"?
I mean, either way it sounds pretty awesome, I've only heard good things about the models.

I for one am a fan if that is their strategy. The Nurgle Demon Sigmar stuff is gorgeous.....by nurgle standards.

I mean, either way it sounds pretty awesome, I've only heard good things about the models. Thousand Sons had a 40k version of the tzaangor kit already from 2016, so it was only a matter of time before they said well...why should they only get tzaangors, when they could also have elites and fast attack etc? I'm a big fan of the strategy - it doesn't make sense for most of the factions (its not like Dark Eldar are suddenly going to get the Cauldron of Blood) but for chaos it makes perfect sense - after all, tzeentch has these tzaangor running around his silver towers as guards, why not put them on the front lines?

It's also a very convenient way to flesh out TS as a full army.

Dark Eldar will get new Cthulhu elves as bonus units, though.

Early leaks of the codex are out - the thousand sons trait gives them +6" on all psychic powers, which seems super awesome.
They have 18 spells to take - the 6 from CSM, the 6 tzeentch ones from Daemons, and then 6 that are just for the thousand sons.
So lots of spells to dish out, and squad leaders can take a spell instead of just getting smite-lite, which means you can realistically make use of all the most useful ones across an army at 2000 points.
Lots of shenanigans with teleporting and deep strikes - they have the normal deep strike strategem most armies have, then they have a relic that lets you remove the unit and deep strike it elsewhere in the middle of the game, and then psychic powers that give bonus movement or help you teleport etc. So lots of the old whack-a-mole strategy Mawlocs used to give tyranids.
Magnus gets to cast 3 and dispell 3 per turn - but he knows 7 spells, so he will have a tool box for whatever the enemy brings him.

Also warlord traits:
1. Know an extra psychic power (magnus has this innately) 2. Reroll failed deny the witch tests 3. Reduce damage to you warlord by 1 to a minimum of 1 4. Warlord can advance and charge in the same turn (and reroll failed charges) 5. Add 1 to all psychic tests
some of the relics:
1. prismatic staff - replaces force stave - allows bearer to shoot and charge in the turn in which it fell back. +2S -1AP D3 damage 2. darkmatter crystal - once per battle, select an infantry unit within 12" of bearer or the bearer themselves, and immediately remove them from the table and place 9.01" away from enemy units on the board. Specifically also works even if you're in combat. 3. helm of the third eye - if wearer is on battlefield, on a 5+ you gain a command point every time your opponent uses a stratagem 4. athenean scrolls - if you roll double on psychic test for bearer, your opponent cannot deny or negate it in any way 5-6. also some other weapon upgrades that we don't have details on but that people are saying are not very useful
