I should be there most of the day, with 1500 and 2000 point Dark Angel lists, and maybe a 1500 Harlequin list as well.

I am going to get there when it opens to help set up and will be there most of the day. I will bring all my orks so I am open to any point level that people want to play.

Anyone at all interested in trying out power levels? Honestly, it's just not balanced enough. I know that's not the point, but all the games I've played and reports I've seen have showed games where one side is really outmatched.

I feel that power levels discourage fluffy builds due to the fact that units are costed for their more expensive upgrades, encouraging min-maxing more than points. I can't imagine, for example, ever taking a Guard heavy weapons squad with mortars or heavy bolters because it's 3 power level for a 27 or 36 point squad. I'd feel like I was handicapping myself if I did. The same with Infantry squads: thematically, I don't want heavy weapons in my Praetorian squads because they don't look as good ranked up, but then I'd feel like I was overpaying for models again (3 power for a 41 point squad).
Also, unfortunately, I won't be able to make the launch party as I'll be leaving the city for the summer that day. Have fun!

Anyone at all interested in trying out power levels? Feel free to play power levels if you and your opponent on that day want...the launch event is open play so your free to do what you want as long as your opponent consents..just make sure as a backup plan to bring 1500 if you have it...if not I've already seen plenty of folks here who will have spares available for you to play with...along with what Luke (Co-Organizer) and the Dojo have.

Great that works, if your able to contact Luke on FB and let him know you're down to help him setup..I won't be there but he'll be setting up for the event and I'm sure he'd be welcoming of your assistance.

Sorry for the Triple post but if you're able to bring some terrain feel free to bring it....the dojo has a lot of terrain but idk if it'll have enough for potentially 7 tables full.

I'll be there, very excited to learn and play. I'm actually more curious if anyone wouldn't mind passing around a couple of the index's. I got the main rulebook but the store was out of the Imperium 1 and Xeno 2.
I'll bring my Tau and my Blood Angels I've got a little of both.

Sorry I haven't been in this thread. But yes, I'll be there early to set up and have everything good to go. I plan on getting there between 10:30 and 11 depending on traffic and errands I have to run before hand. I'll set up some tables for the alternate types like city fight and hopefully stronghold Assault if I can find the appropriate terrain in the basement. If not it'll be Planet Strike! Most tables will be normal set ups though.

We used to do 6 or 7 tables for 40k tournaments - they have plenty of terrain, enough for at least 8 tables; no need for people to bring out their own (unless they really really want to).

I have the ebook versions of all the indices if you want to flip through them day of. Also, the canhammer youtube page does a "readthrough" of all the indices, so if you haven't gotten a chance to see your armies' rules you should check those out.
