Yup that's mortarions scythe all right, looks like that leak of the CAD design for him was spot on.
And I love that the nurgle stuff is basically "aos nurgle stuff...but what guns!" - those blight king terminators are dripping with character, that's awesome!!

Proposed rules for 8th edition looks Great, hopefully its not a full year out. They seemed to imply it was still in the early stages at this point. In particular armor save modifiers sounds amazing; it should add some punching power to many units. *Hyped for 8th*
Also those plastic plague marines look great; not so sure about the plague zombies though. Also surprised to see another Daemon Primarch so quickly, maybe Angron and Fulgrim aren't so far off either.

Movement Stat is coming back - that's a really awesome thing I hope it balances some of the "movement creep" we saw in 6th & 7th edition; rather than make it worse. 40k is already a game where fast units tend to out perform slow units, and I'm a little cautious about how making some units slower than the standard 6" may impact it further. It would be nice to see some of the less viable units get buff in the movement stat; an 8" movement on Hormagaunts or Harlequins would do a lot to help those units out on the table. Its all just wild speculation at this point however...

If it's done right, I think movement values and armor mods could be great (I even like to hit mods in Necromunda). I was talking to another friend of mine earlier and he was worried things would go more toward the original AoS 'take anything and everything'... but isn't that what Unbound already is? The "3 ways to play" means we'll still have a real way to play (aka, points values), so is it possible to unbalance things more? The command points sound like a potentially great way to encourage more fluffy and "proper" lists like the command benefits now try to do (and as is, it seems most people stick with formations/etc for ObSec and other bonuses).
This could really breathe new life into the game for me, personally... I don't want to get my hopes too high here, but like Nick said, even something as simple as enhanced movement suddenly makes Hormagaunts (a sadly lackluster core unit) quite viable and enjoyable.
Time will tell... either way I hope the change comes soon, I'd rather know the direction and make a decision then than have to wait a year or more.

To be honest, its pretty easy to make the game more unbalanced. For example, just look at the transition from the 6th edition to 7th. If GW does the same thing they did then, you'll have a few months, if not years, until your army is up to par with 8th edition. Something like that creates MASSIVE unbalance issues as you have to keep old mechanics in the core rules in order to keep older codexes usable. Again, looking at 6 to 7 they weren't able to do away with the Warp Charge system because it was written in older codexes, so they had to make up the weird psychic system in 7th to keep everything working.
Ideally, they will do what they did with AoS and scrap everything; then release pdf codexes day one with fluff/art heavy codexes later. That model does jade some people to the new edition though, as some would feel they had already bought new rules too recently and don't want their books to be outdated so fast (I.E anyone who bought gathering storm, chaos legions, ect). GW seems to really like the direction AoS has taken, so I'd highly suspect we'll see that format for releases along with an annual "General's Handbook" living rulebook. Sounds like the renaissance of 40k, Er Age of the Emperor, continues...
