Merry Christmas This is pretty much my Nidz list nowadays for 1500 points. Waddaya think? I have more carnifexes I'd use in an 1850 list, but 1500 is usually the norm so I had to cut some stuff out.
Genestealer allied detachment - (357 points):
HQ:
Patriarch Magus - level 2, The Crouchling
Elites: Purestrain Genestealers - x8
Troops: Neophytes - x10, x2 Grenade launcher
Tyranid CAD primary Detachment (805 points)
HQ: Flyrant - 2 TLBLWDevourers warlord
Elite: Zoanthrope Venomthrope
Troop: Termigant Brood - x15, x10 Devourers 5x fleshborers Termigant Brood- 11, 7x Fleshborer, 4x Devourer Heavy Support: Carnifex - 2 TLBLWD Exocrine
Formation Detachment - Subterranean Uprising (337 points) Primus Acolyte Hybrid - x5, 1 hand flamer Acolyte Hybrid - x5, 1 hand flamer Acolyte Hybrid - x5, 1 hand flamer Metamorphs - x7, 4 claw, 2 whip, 1 leader with whip/bone sword

Now that I look at it, this is lacking some of the zilla. I'd sometimes replace the genestealer CAD and put in: Carnifex x 2 - 2x TLBLWD - 300 Zoanthrope - 50 Termigants - x 12 (4 devourers, 8 fleshborers) - 64 and make the Flyrant the warlord.

Last I remember you can only use 1 Max for heavy support, elite, fast attack, and hq. Your nid list might be off.

Ah good point. Didn't look a the error messages. I'd basically replace the flamer cultists with some Termagants then and have the flyrant be the warlord.
Fixed it

Yeah I did. The original post is edited. Now you can't prove that it was ever an illegal list!

Mixing cult with Nids seems pretty dope. Gotta say, I'd be hard pressed to not take the little genestealer formation (I think it's the patty and 20 stealers?) in every list. As far as I'm concerned, that formation replaces Nid stealers in the codex.

Yeah I agree. I gotta grab 4 more stealers first.

Yeah I did. The original post is edited. Now you can't prove that it was ever an illegal list! In allied detachment you can only have 1 hq. I'm seeing a patriarch and a magus... Still proving your list to be wrong. :-D.

Cause Id just have 2 cads but for some reason I thought you can only have 1 You can have as many cads as you want. Just depends if you have enough points, or in a tournament that restricts you. Also sorry if I have been nitpicking your list. Funny enough I have been helping my friend build his tyranids and cultist list, so I had a laugh when you posted this up. However my friend just started and does not have that many models.

Haha no problem dude. I've been a weird mix of restless and careless the past day. I'm making and posting the lists but not actually checking for errors. I've honestly not had great success with my nids, but the tried and true formula seems to be dakka and cover saves. Synapse coverage is always a problem too, so I'm looking to buy a malanthrope. I've never loved the Tervigon, and warriors suck, so it's been really tough to have enough synapse though. I've gone all in on MCs, with 3 carnifexes, an Exocrine, and a still unbuilt mawloc.
On the other hand, I love the genestealer cult. The sneakiness and independence of each ambushing unit is a ton of fun and just messes with my opponents all game. Plus new genestealers are great.

Yeah I list I suggested to my friend is something like this
Cultist cad
Hq: Magnus- level 2, familiar Magnus- level 2
Troops: 10x acycoles 11x neo
Formation: The First Curse
Nids Hq: High tyrant - flying bone sword and lash
Elite: Malothrope (spelled wrong) Zonethrope x2 (spelled wrong) Zonethrope x2 (spelled wrong)
Troops: Termgants x30 Trevagant (that dude that spawns more gants)
Subterranean assault is a way better formation, but I think my friend has only these models.

Nice. He could also try the doting throng. It's basically a magus with acolytes and Neophytes but the Magus gets a 12" hatred bubble plus his squad rerolls to hit in every turn of a prolonged combat, not just the first. While it's not as powerful as the subterranean swarm, he gets a juicy combat bonus for using the models he already has.

And yeah it's the Tervigon that spawns gaunts that I have an irrational aversion to.
