Jesus, my Dwarf campaign was only 150 turns long and it seemed to drag. Playing a Grimgor campaign now and it is progressing much slower. Low tier gobbos are such total, total garbage.

I just finished a vampire campaign that took 356 turns to beat the long victory. Chaos was beaten before 150, but I accidentally crippled the green skins while stopping their 3 stack 2 Waaagh march north so it didn't completely wipe out the dwarfs. By the time I was all settled recolonizing Kislev and nearby places (because chaos left quite a few juicy razed settlements behind them and I didn't have the money to fight everyone at once yet), the dwarfs had stomped the green skins out.
It took me 50 turns and 11 full stack armies, almost all with a good few of every unit with "var" and "ghiest" in the name and no unit less than rank 6, to march all the way to the bottom right corner of the map and raze everything, and it would've taken longer if there weren't a few epic battles to grab fresh monsters and grave guard from. Iron breakers are a massive pain in the ass. Are they the toughest infantry in the game? It certainly seems that way.
Props to the AI though for learning to disengage units with ranged attacks from melee. And to not ignore the cavalry running around them. And that it's worth running to protect your artillery. Really just general non-idiotic tactics in general I've never seen in total war before. Good on them!

Finally beat the chaos campaign, in 508 turns. Starting a VC campaign now, having a lot of fun with just throwing units of skellies away to tarpit the enemy and throwing in vargheists to crush the flanks.

I'm about 200 turns into my dwarf campaign, and yeah Ironbreakers are pretty amazing. An army of them, thunderers, some cannons and organ guns seems pretty unbeatable so for.

Well, my Chaos campaign turned horrible. Turn 40 I had Karl Franz, 2 armies from Middenland, 2 from Ostland, 2 from Ostermark, 1 from Kislev, 1 from Hochland, and 3 from the Skaeling chasing me around the Chaos Wastes. I particularly enjoyed how the entire world stopped its infighting to come after my two armies. Four turns of that garbage and I quit the campaign.

I had it on Hard. I'm guessing the Vampires and Orcs were sleeping rather than raiding the empty empire. From past experience with other Total War games, I should know that the AI doesn't get better with harder difficulties, it just focuses more of the diverse factions on you.
